    went back to a stock after driving a sogi hack. All 5 of my previous mk3 had the hacked shifters too. Other than the position being a bit back for me (ill bend the lever forward later) I love the ability to get into gear and easily reach it from the wheel.

    I find it easiest to do similar to above. I install the head, drop in the washers, then install the studs the nuts last. The 2nd part is important. If you do the 3rd 2nd, you will know what I mean.

    FWIW I know for a fact a gm 3 bar map will work in place of the hks unit. Mine ran great.

I think as long as things are happy in the chamber, a stock headgasket and bolts, torqued to the right torque(over stock) It will withstand anything the stock turbo can dish out.     egts arent jsut timing or fuel related. You can pop a motor before anything shows. Too little timing can cause EGTs to rise too, the cyl is cold but the burning fuel comming out the port isnt.
