    haltech/trigger question

You need to use the crank sensor and one of the cam sensors.

AEM Tune to pass emission inspection

Lean misfire will cause the HC to go through the roof. Lean will not cause CO to go up (correcting figgies post above). CO goes up when the mixture gets richer. A catalytic converter works great at 2500 and above, assuming the feed gases are close to correct. The piss poor spray pattern...

AEM Tune to pass emission inspection

It looks to me you are running a bit rich and also picking up some tiny misfires (may not even really feel). I don't know what your tune looks like, so it is hard for me to say what is left on the table before a cat needs to be put in. Careful air/fuel tuning (again the engine should run GOOD)...

AEM Tune to pass emission inspection

Passing without a cat may be possible, depending on your states emission levels. I have done it before in certain states. Things to keep in mind. You shouldn't have to "limp" the car around on a fairly clean running map. It should be running smooth, cams and crappy spray pattern injectors...

    Wideband UEGO Controller Modules

You technically don't need one, if your tuner has one to use for the tuning process. It is my opinion though, that any car with a programmable tuning device or cars pushing above stock power levels should have a wideband installed. The cost of widebands now leaves absolutely no excuse for not...

Party at my place the 24th

I scanned the thread, saw something about drunk jail bait and Duane being a slut. Sounds like a good time, where is the sign up sheet? :biglaugh:

    Free AEM Tuning!

But here is the catch you all expected: Free tune (excluding dyno) with the purchase of an AEM EMS kit (ECU, wideband, sensors) from me. The cost of the kits depends on the year (Mk3 87-88 boxes are on sale right now), but I will meet/beat any legitimate advertised price on the above components...

aem map sensor wiring help !!!

If your AEM software is installed in the default locations, go to C:\Program Files\AEM\AEMPro\Instructions and select the .pdf that matches your part number. You will find all the pin info a guy could hope to have! :biglaugh:

introducing new Standalone engine management SME

Charlotte (Underground Racing) but I was talking to Rich a few weeks ago about coming down to Majestic again on the same trip. So yes, highly likely there as well.

LOL April Fools Day is hitting damn early this year.... :biglaugh: There is a simple, foolproof way for anyone to handle a TEC2:

introducing new Standalone engine management SME

Hey guys, thanks for the warm welcome and letting me have a cool title above my name! :) I do travel anywhere in the world for tuning (including Duane's house). :evil2: Redneck country is also good, will be heading to North Carolina third week in January. PM or email me if you guys have...

    Coming 2009 from MoTeC

You got it! The M110 may prove to be an exception, but there is almost zero info on that particular unit yet. Expect it to be the last M1 series to debut.

    Coming 2009 from MoTeC

I also pass on this information to the best of my knowledge (which can be limited at best sometimes). A lot of information is getting out, but it seems what is out there is generating more questions than answers. It is this I am trying to correct, but keep in mind the "book" on these systems is...

    Coming 2009 from MoTeC

Regarding this statement. This is technically true. But it will neither be easy, nor cheap. It will require an estimated 2+ weeks of training, potential hardware/software investment, and then PASSING the class once you take it in such a manner Motec feels you worthy of being a System Integrator...

    Coming 2009 from MoTeC

The top level programming is available on all the boxes, and I think we can all agree this capability will not come cheap. What most users will end up getting is the mid level "capability" on one of these boxes. Meaning you can load a "package firmware" written/tested/approved/distributed free...

    Coming 2009 from MoTeC

Depending on your time frame, don't expect M1 series stuff to start rolling out to the public until at least June (and depending on the box you want, it will be later than that). The first boxes out will be the M170/M190 autosport stuff, which is way above what I suspect the average guy will...

    Coming 2009 from MoTeC

Nobody you know, yet. :) But it is a full drag Mk4, starting from a bare shell. Lots of goodies save for an SDL (had to make some concessions in the budget to get the overall package I wanted). We are doing an M800, CDI8, PDM30, E888, individual EGT, and the usual slew of sensors you would...

    Coming 2009 from MoTeC

Sorry Figgie, not to nitpick your post (thanks by the way for highlighting all the new products coming out), but the PDM 15/30 feature the same magnesium enclosures as the new M1 series ECU. They did use AMP connectors to bring the cost down (quite a bit as you mentioned). I think the cost of...

    Coming 2009 from MoTeC

"Pro" level access will be available on any of the ECUs in the range (save for perhaps the M110). Conversely, you could potentially have say a "LS" only M190. The flexibility of access is limitless. I should also clarify on the fully open boxes, that does not mean the end user gets to jump in...
