Thats my point exactly. I'd never put that cash out there. I'll be in the market for a 91-92 Turbo with targa or factory sunroof. Auto ir 5spd doesnt matter. I just swap my new seats and rims, and hope my new purchase has mint paint and no rust already.
I dont have pics since i dropped the car off yesterday and have a busy schedule. But the numbers they gave me were 140-135-118-112-116-142. It's leaking by over 20% which is terrible. I bought the donor car from a friend under the conditions that it passes the leak down test, however it...
well i dropped off the donor car. they are doin a leak down test today before they go ahead with the swap. My car is orginally an NA auto, but the donor car i dropped off is an 89 turbo 5spd. I know these guys arent cheap. They did my friends supra (ubersupra) and was around 10k for a build...
^^^^ okay sorry guys for being annoying. yeah it is. With a complete rebuild, new rods and pistons. I'll update this in a bit with the list of parts being installed.
You have good taste my friend. And know how to extent the fenders properly. I cant wait to see it done. The overhead shot of the car and parts is sex. I love that pic. Think you'll have it done for suprafest '07
I'll snap some better pics this weekend. The car has an apex N1 exhaust and H&R springs, witha BIC DDP. I couldnt pass the deal. Body and interior are in good condition except for the drivers rear corner.
Jeff,
Wanna help with the swap.
Also, if I use the 87 harness and ecu with an 89 engine, will i loose the slight HP and TQ increase that was gained in the 89 model year. Was the HP in that model year gained by remapping the ECU
So i bought another supra that was damaged on the left rear. Its an '89 5spd turbo targa. I paid $1700 for the car that has a new cluth and HG job done recently with MHG and ARP's. Im using it to convert my '87 NA auto into a turbo 5spd. I can hardly wait, we'll be tearing it apart next...
Im think most of the bolts from the auto trans can be removed. http://www.tampabaysupras.com/files/Mk3EngineFasteners.pdf There it seems they are a universal length and thread.
From what I've read before the teeth are different on the AT and MT trans so I dont think they are compatible.
