Regarding the injector wizard and battery offset, it is quite simple to make your own battery offset compensation table if your injectors aren't listed in the AEM wizard. Just vary battery voltage with the car running and watch and correct the A:F as nessicary. Of course, you need to have an...
Not driving like grandma doesn't have to include shock loading the driveline. Woon, SW and all of those 6 speed racers would never make it down the track shock loading the driveline...
The actual moment of catastrophic failure isn't always the same as when the last nail went in the coffin. It could have cracked the gear last time you shifted into 3rd and just ripped it apart the next time you laid into it or 3 times later when the crack finally reached the center or whatever...
Nah, he said "slicks". If the car was actually on bias ply drag slicks or ET streets, it very likely wouldn't have broken.
Drag radials kill driveline parts in stick shift cars if you do not drive smooth. Not nessicarily "bad", just not smooth.
Driving style is the number one contributor to manual trans breakage. I've seen guys go thru "indestructable" V160 boxes like shit thru a goose at only 800 whp. Shock loading a manual trans with sticky radials and more than double the rated torque = broken trans (or other weaker driveline link)...
I'd have to say just spring for a new set of Toyota coils. I've made over 830 rwhp on E85 with a semi new set of them, an HKS DLI, stock ignitor and AEM EMS. They will last quite a while and no pioneer arrows in your ass...
Nice numbers BTW.
I suck at math but, I have gone 160ish before and wasn't really scared. I think we were going a bit faster than that.
The car in question has trapped 138 in the 1/4 (on low boost) in 3rd gear...
It isn't all about displacement. The stock 7M intake manifold and cams are kind of restrictive up top. IIRC it makes more torque than power though, just like the similar setup 35R 7M I have in the garage at the moment that made 444 rwhp and 470 rwtq @ 17 psi on a different dyno, different day.
I don't know why I always read these threads.
Anyway, I distinctly recall the driver hitting the 8500 rpm rev limiter in 5th gear of a mk4 I was tuning. It had 28" tall tires and the stock US 6 speed gearing. The butt GPS said about 600 miles an hour. I think he would have redlined 6th too...
The turbo pressure sensor on a 7M doesn't go back to the ECU so, wiring the MAP sensor there isn't going to help you much if you want to convert the car to speed density.
If you downloaded the software then you have all of the information that anyone who purchased a brand new EMS has. 1130...
Put post #3 in this thread together with the pinout diagram that you should have already downloaded from the AEM website (as part of the full software package) and you have all of the information needed.
Dig car/ 1/4 mile competitor = GM automatic. Weekend toy/highway roll on king = Getrag V160 (can be drag raced but results will be slower than properly equipped GM slushbox.
The real question is are you going to keep the water in the block or fill it for a reliable 1000 whp 2JZ?
