how to check codes?
Bend a paperclip up so one end goes into the TE1 port, and the other in the E1 port, in the diagnostic box under the hood. Leave it, put they key in the ignition and turn to the ON position, and watch the CEL blink, and it will tell you your codes. For example, blink blink blink blink blink...- ndnxtc

Couple problems to work out
If you go standalone, you could get rid of the AFM or any MAF. An AEM EMS would give you the most options as far as tuning and control over most aspects of your car.- ndnxtc
