CPS defiantly sounds set wrong. look up in the TRSM on how to do it correctly. it is tricky as you need to allow a extra tooth so when the cps slides into the helicoil gear it then meshes at the correct spot, alot of people get caught on it. other suggestion would be checking the internal wiring...
Likely as hinted back at the start regarding if you can see the fluid moving around inside the reservoir.
Inside the reservoir is a wire mesh screen which acts as a filter, i can guarantee this is blocked so the pump is starving of fluid and cannot build enough fluid pressure to turn the wheels...
I understand that, but the issue i have is i dont have that connector. seems the fuel pump manufacture pierburg dont offer it as a spare part. And getting one from a OEM car will be difficult in NZ.
Hence why i was asking about the qualities of electricity when submerged in E85
Anyone?
Hey guys
So im setting my mk3 up for flex fuel E85 operation
Ive just got a few questions regarding the electrics inside the fuel tank
Ive got a Pierburg low pressure lift pump that will be lifting to a surge tank
Unfortunately the pump arrived without an electrical plug. and the stock...
Could be some sort of car wash? been sprayed over the engine and has caked onto the hot components, and hasn't been washed off during a pressure wash?
I wouldn't be worried. Also check all exhaust manifold threads in the head, its common on 7Ms to strip the threads then require helicoiling...
If its not throwing codes, then id be checking basic maintenance. check the spark plugs, check the ignition timing with TE1 and E1 shorted
Check the condition of the connections at the coil pack, plug wires
Is the spark valley full of oil?
You also have to think about it from the mechanics point of view, hes not a supra owner or an enthusiast he dosent know that Toyota messed up the head torque in these cars.
He is just doing his job and rebuilt it to the torque that the manual said. If he put his own opinion on every torque...
When the engine is cold the relief system works perfectly, i have a Greddy gauge that's a digital stepper motor and very sensitive, the pressure at startup shoots to 500kpa 72psi then the relief must open it causes pressure to instantly drop back to 420kpa 60psi which is normal when cold...
Yeah ive got a custom sump with hinged gates and 4quarts of extra volume, oil level was perfect full on the factory dipstick
And 30W oil, well 5-30w. 30w when up to 100C anyways :)
Hey guys so just finished a track day in my supra today and got a question about the oil pressure.
Specs are
Rebuilt motor (not sure of clearances re builder did it). Oil squirters, full flow relocation setup with a 19row oil cooler and a 86c oil tstat 186 farenheight
New toyota oil pump...
Interesting. this is why i started this thread to get some real world answers. The internet is full of all sorts, mainly being that it is corrosive and attacks aluminum. Even posts about the fuel sitting in the intake/head after engine shut off starts corroding.
I wont be using E85 much, mainly...
Awesome, guessing your running a 2jz?
Yeah i understand the extra flow requirements of E85. Im at the point now where i have the standalone ecu for it so i need to piece together a fuel system that can handle more power (its all stock currently) then its off to be tuned
The question is do i set...
Hello everyone!
So ive got a few questions regarding E85. I live in New Zealand and where only now starting to catch up with the rest of the world regarding E85
and its starting to pop up at a few fuel stations and able to be purchased in drums.
I understand all the performance benefits...
The way ive always flushed power-steering is to remove the return line back to the reservoir and connect it to another pipe and pipe it directly into a waste oil container.
Then with another person get them to start the engine and turn the wheels while you pour clean atf into the reservoir.
Yes...
Get a bigger breaker bar, or a jack handle over your existing one something to give you more leverage. there's nothing fancy its just 14mm its just been put in there really tight.
That one that has the 10mm bolt in it. that bolt will just come out for whatever reason Toyota threaded those...
I run 15mm spacers on my car and there Toyota bore 60.1. So i had to sand away the small amount of hub centric ring that stuck out past the disk so then the spacer could sit flush on the disk. it was only a couple of milimeters.
for a wheel centric ring you may just be able to slide it on...
The way they flow test and claim how many CFM a electric fan can move is free air with no restriction. As soon as you mount it onto a radiator with a big restriction in front of it the CFM output falls dramatically.
Pretty much all 6 cylinder turbo cars ive seen at the track with some electric...
