Its not as rough as a misfire, but it feels like its laking power. Im gonna check the plugs and wires. The plugs are new but the wires arent.
BTW thanks to everone that helped me with the questions I had on getting her running. Im real happy with you guys support.
I drove it a while and let it run for a bit afterward. It seems to have stopped smoking. It still feels rough. Also I noticed the exhaust is pretty black inside.
I am going to drive it today and see if it continues. Also, the car has 7mgte cams in it, does this pose a problem or can they be left in there without any issues?
Not long need to put more gas in it first. It smokes quite a bit, but mostly when accelerating. I believe my brother had the seals replaced before he parked it, because he switched out the head. I'll try to get a pic and if possible a video, tomorrow.
Finally had a nice day here in Georgia and was able to finish up. I cleaned the tank, replaced the fuel pump and filter, and got it to turn on. I drove it around my block. It idles fine but has accelerates a little rough. Its also smoking when I accelerate. Its a white, greyish smoke. Any ideas?
It just has some trash on the bottom of the tank. I was thinking about rinsing it out with water and some mild detergent. Just wanted to know what other people have done. Thanks for the help.
Ok I got my hands on another hanger assembly. But it real rusty and dirty. I cleaned the most off the assembly but dont know how to clean inside the tubes. It has some junk in the line. Any ideas?
Ok guys I headed outside to put the fuel pump on but I noticed that I twisted to connector line on top a bit when removing it. Im pissed at myself but, oh well. Can I still use it or should i replace it? Heres a pic of what i talking about. Its the exit line on the hanger assembly.
Hey man, welcome to the forums but you have just made the same mistake I did. You posted in the wrong section. lol. You should of posted in the MKIII Tech section. A lot more people will be able to help you there.
Well, the results are in. The culprit is the fuel pump. I connected the wires and nothing no noise whatsoever. So I'll change it out as well as the filter, and while I have the tank off Im going to clean it out.
Thanks to everyone thats help me out. Glad I joined this forum.
Ok guys I dropped the tank and removed the fuel filter. I removed the fuel pump and want to check to see if it turns on. I also went ahead and ripped apart the fuel filter. The gas that poured out was a dark brown and it was completely full of crud inside.
