    Crank, No Start

It's alive! Some jackass who owned the motor prior to me installed a new connector on the harness for the CPS -- 3 of the 4 wires were mis-pinned. :X It runs now, timing is set, but it runs pig rich! Will work on that now...thanks all!

    Crank, No Start

Crank no start 7MGTE. Recently swapped this motor in place of a NA, so, "new" to the car engine, harness, ECU. 89 Engine in a 89 chassis, so everything plugged in the way it was supposed to. Key on I have power to the injectors, but cranking, no pulse. Also while cranking, no spark. Swapped...

    strange misfire on my 7mgte

Do you have a boost controller and a boost gauge? How much boost is showing when it cuts fuel?

In need of replacement wheel hubs

I have a complete spare front end in my back yard...if I can figure out how to get them apart, you can have what I have for the cost of the ride (probably fit in a USPS flat rate box). The front came from a '89, not that I think it makes a difference. Shoot me a PM... -- Mike

My car hit the track last night...

I'll have to look at the time slips to see what it was doing in the 1/8 and 60ft. Street tires...can't remember the brand off hand, but they're 275x40x17s. Ya, I'll check out the plugs when I pull them. I have a AEM wideband and it's running 10.5ish WOT, so lean is not the prob. Yes, I have...

My car hit the track last night...

So, my son took my MK3 to the track last night to see what he could pull for time slips. Forged internals, 550s, T67, Lexus MAF, stock ECU, running about 10-11psi. Needs new plugs...breaking down a bit at the top of each gear. Tech made him wear a fire jacket because my turbo is not...

    Hmmm downpipe...

Move out of Cali...why anyone would want to live with sky high taxes, bullshit liberal laws, and a ridiculous cost of living is beyond me.

What's the status of the 7M AEM V2 from Driftmotion?

That's awesome to hear! I hope to have one in the spring.

    intercooler

I have a Ebay IC (31x12x4) and it works great. I bought a separate 2.5" polished aluminum piping kit from CX Racing and did all the cutting and fitting myself. It wasn't all that bad (an afternoon of cutting and fitting) and I was able to route the pipes where I wanted them, not where some kit...

Kinda like a boat....happiest days of owning one are the day you buy it and the day you sell it. LMAO! You have a LOT to learn...start reading.

I may be THE FIRST.... Nah, I can't be...

This! I've never heard of a 7M bottom end giving way. Nice job!

    cant hold on to boost

LOL....like sucking a golf ball through a water hose. No air = no boost.

Finally hurt my 7m at over 700 whp.

Ya -- people don't realize how strong the 7M can be. 27 psi is quite impressive on a stock bottom end. Folks usually wind up melting pistons before destroying a crank or rods...I've never seen a windowed 7M.

    Crashed The MK3 Today

This. I put Hagerty on mine back in the spring when it came due for emissions testing. In AZ we can avoid testing if the car has collector car insurance on it. It just can't be a daily driver. They have no annual mileage requirement, though, nor have I ever been asked for mileage on any of...

Need help with intake routing 7mgte

Looks like the vacuum hose/pipe on the drivers side of the block that routes vacuum to the stock blow off valve. Here is a page with just about every hose diagram you could want for our cars. The one you want to look at is the 7th one down -- the line you are holding is in the bottom left...

    Coolent loss and overheating problems

It's the start of a BHG, for sure. I've blown two and neither one smoked until they were REALLY blown. Identical symptoms as yours to start and progressively got worse until one hydro locked and the other started blowing steam. No doubt about it -- BHG.
