    Rear Hatch Glass Replacement Questions

I found a used hatch glass from an 87 at a local Junkyard. It needs to be cleaned up, but there doesn't seem to be any scratches on the window. I will need to test the defogger as well. I also ordered some new clips, an adhesive dam, and both side trim pieces from the dealer so that everything...

    Rear Hatch Glass Replacement Questions

Today, I broke my rear glass, working on the car... :3d_frown: I will try to get a quote for a new glass tomorrow, but I have already found a full hatch with a good glass for cheap, so chances are I will go that way. I have read in another thread that I am better off getting the job done by a...

Are My Brakes Dragging? (videos inside)

@robawelch Even though I have never done it, rebuilding calipers does seem very easy to do. I just wouldn't want to risk to have the car not running to get me to work. Also, I'm not perfectly well equiped. I don't have compressed air and do all the work in the driveway. I still managed to...

Are My Brakes Dragging? (videos inside)

Thanks destrux and all others, this confirms that it is time for rebuilding my brake system and make it work like new again. I have also found this post with good info, saying that the non-driven wheels shoud be able to do quite a few rotations. After much reading, here is what I am plannig...

Are My Brakes Dragging? (videos inside)

@Radiod The car doesn't seem to pull at all. I like the radiating heat method to compare wheel drag between left and right wheels. I could even easily rig some thermocouples to read the temp diffence while driving. However that won't tell me if both front wheels are dragging. I'll still try it...

Are My Brakes Dragging? (videos inside)

A While back, I had noticed that, when my car is jacked up, the front wheels still have a lot of resistance to them, caused by the braking system. I decided to shoot some videos of it, hoping I could get SupraMania's opinion on the subject. Rotor + Caliper + Wheel Rotor + Caliper Rotor Only...

Lowest Mileage and Most Expensive MKIII

http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-trucks-1990-Toyota-Supra-Turbo-W0QQAdIdZ370774998 I came upon this posting for a low mileage 90 turbo. It's also probably the most expensive one on sale ever. That thing really is a beauty and I'd love to see it in person! I know the car has...

Is this a good first car?

I mostly lurk around this forum but thought I would chime in since my first and second cars were MKIII's. So here is the story, you make your own conclusions from it: My first Supra @ 18 I was never that much into cars, but had good experience with mechanical/electrical stuff. Didn't know...

Headlight Bounces Up and Down (Electrical trouble)

Hi folks, My 88 Supra (Canadian model with DRL) developed a pretty annoying trouble this week. When I turn my light control switch to the head position; both headlights light up, the right headlight pops up like a charm and stays there, however the left side head light motor keeps running so...

    Fuel Pulsation Damper (Adjusting Screw)

Yeah, that's what I did. I guess it's better that way then without putting the screw back in at all? It seems that it's just another part that I'll have to replace someday, just to be safe. I would have liked to know if the screw has a preload function to it thought... Thanks for the answers!

    Fuel Pulsation Damper (Adjusting Screw)

Hello, I was fixing a leak at my FPD yesterday, and putting in new gaskets when I noticed that the little screw on top of the FPD had gotten loose and was simply sitting inside the cap. I have read quite a bit about it and it seems to be a common problem, but haven't found an answer. I know...

Where do these gaskets go? (pic)

Hello all, I have a few gaskets remaining from my engine overhaul gasket kit (Jobber brand), that neither I nor my engine rebuilder ended up using. I was just wondering where they go. Who knows, one of them might be the answer to the oil leak I have been trying to locate all week long. Here...

Car starts but doesn't rev up

I had checked the CPS and it was as the TSRM said it should be when putting it back in, before setting the base timing. However, you guys were right once again. I played with my CPS and moved it one notch, and now the cars starts perfectly. I'll set my idle speed and timing, then ROAD TEST!!!

Car starts but doesn't rev up

Hi, My 88 turbo Supra has been undergoing a BHG repair and full engine rebuilt for the last 2 months. After a few troubles with the starter, then the cold start injector, I finally got the Supra to start. However, something seems very badly adjusted. The car only starts with the gas pedal all...

Where does it plug into? (with pic)

Hello all, I am currently in the process of putting my engine back together after a BHG repair, and this one vacuum pipe opening, I don't know where it plugs into (is it capped off, vents to atmosphere?) : My setup is 100% stock. When following the vacuum diagram under my hood it tells...

    Subwoofer Ideas?

I went through the same questioning last year for my 88 turbo targa, and this is what I have come up with. The targa fits right on top, with room to spare. The sub is 10" shallow mount. The downside to most shallow mount subs is that they have a hard time producing under 40Hz frequencies...
