Thanks for all the encouragement guys, progress will be slow but once the engine is mounted things should go along nicely assuming I have the cash to get what I need.
For the clip delivered to my mates house it was $5700NZD (About $4800USD)
Before I get to explaining the 1GZ-FE which I’m sure you all want to hear about I’ll give you a back story of the car and how I’ve gotten to this point.
I bought the car in March 2010 with it pretty much factory except an exhaust, pod filter, bov and wheels. It was a 1ggte 2.0L twin turbo...
Before you yanks start to complain about gas prices you should thank god you don't live here in New Zealand. At the current exchange rate a gallon of premium petrol here costs $7USD. Costs me roughly $100USD to fill up the Supra. Can't actually remember the last time I filled it up.
Bit of an odd question, but did you get the accessories with the motor? I see you have the powersteer pump, but what alternator and A/C pump are you going to run? 7m ones with custom brackets?
Does someone have (or could they make) a diagram that shows where all the adjusters are. I'll be lowering my car soon and I'm purely curious about it all.
So wait, what? The USDM Supra's have reflective strips on the side instead of blinkers? And on the rear quarters too, unlike my car which is a jap import?
Will Bilsteins from a Turbo R fit into a normal Mk3? Reading up on what I can find there is no mention of a different suspension set up other than the shocks themselves, but the rear diff is different and a few other pieces too, but no mention specifically of suspension.
I think a few things are getting unfairly grouped into the ricer set in this thread. I think a lot of the ricer thing has to do with the drivers intentions, if he is trying to make a fast car and he "does" this by a fartcan and neons then yes, he is a ricer. But if it is his intention to make a...
I agree with you completely and it is an unfortunate stereotype we give to parts on ebay. Unfortunately stereotypes are stereotypes for a reason, as most people assume the criteria you described above when in fact it does not, so some of the blame does have to go on the buyer of such things...
B.O.V. I would (and have) fork out for a name brand. A friend of mine has gone through 5 replica branded one's in the time I put my name brand B.O.V. on. And we worked out awhile ago that the money (and time) he has spent screwing round with it, is more then what I paid for my B.O.V. My one is...
The title pretty much says it all, I'm fixing all the mistakes the previous owners of the car did and one of them is the wiring. This plug is a blue 3pin plug in the passenger foot well behind the glovebox snuggled next to the center console.
(My car is rhd)
Thanks in advance guys :)
I think that's just the way it is with these cars, over here in New Zealand people don't know what it is so when I'm out cruising or whatever, people in Hondas and Nissans etc. call it a pos and try to boost it off.(Obviously there are others who love it but unfortunately a minority.) Best way...
Hey guys, I decided that I want to do some sort of venting on my front fenders, I've seen a few different designs in build threads etc. but I haven't seen an idea I really love yet. So, show me your favorite fender designs please.
Hi guys, I have an 86.5 GA70 and I've been on the mission of finding parts to help my Supra handle better, I've heard on the street and just want to confirm the fact that suspension/sway bars/anti-roll bars etc. from a MA70 and a JZA70 would fit my car without trouble, is this true? Any other...
Well I have a friend who is an electrical engineer/programmer, he has gotten into tuning cars recently, hes tuned his own R34 skyline and a few other of my friends cars and now wants to try a Toyota, problem is finding a cable and software, does anyone have software that works and can anyone...
