I bought the car with a BHG. Timing at 10 degrees and it ran and idled good. Put in a 2MM MHG and had 5 thousands taken off the head to true it up. Nothing off the block. I timed it at 10 and it still ran and idled good.
Now I had another 6 thou. off the head and 9 thou. off the block...
I was cleaning the Flex plate after an engine overhaul (it had 139,000 miles on it) and saw the damage. My car is only putting out about 350RWHP and 400RWTQ. The Center of the flex plate is almost ripped right out!!! I have a 3000 stall converter and a built auto and can rip off a pretty good...
I needed to rebuild after 140,000 miles, so I put in .020 over JEG pistons. I know that the 7M is supposed to be a non-interference engine but the piston actually comes out of the block a little bit!!
There was .009 taken off the block and the head has been shaved twice .005 the first time...
