I've a non vvti 1jz sitting at home which is intended for a swap into a s14. A vvti has come up for good money and I'm considering going for it as I'm missing a few important parts for my non vvti.
My questions is I've rebuild parts for the non vvti sitting at home aswell, full gasket kit...
Funny I was running nismo 740cc's on my sr20 and making around 350bhp at 65% on 95ron.
Either way I'd rather buy the 1600 and know it'll suit than buy a 800 and end up having to replace them as they're too small.
No, just e85. I've a friend running 1600cc's on a sr22det making 500whp and he's running around 70%. I'm aiming for around 600whp so should be up around the same numbers.
Exactly what I was thinking, my small toe makes more torque. I think I should've stuck with the SR20DET.

I'm sure most people like the 1j becasue its an easy engine to get loads of power out of.

I'm just after getting a 1jz and I'm putting it in a NIssan 200sx (240sx in the US). I'm doing a bit of work to the engine before it goes in, replacing all the gaskets, full service etc. Most likely I'll be putting arp bolts in the top end and possibly the rods aswell as I've heard they're not...
