This method works well for about 5 minutes. Then funny noises make you regret it.

Honestly the 7M isn't that slow. Putting a cone filter on and opening the exhaust wakes it up. Not to get off topic, jus sayin.

When you're at high engine speeds it harder to shift smooth and easier to break stuff. Never "slam" the shifter. Leave that to the clutch, it can handle it. You are more guiding the shifter, you're just speeding up your clutching. Quick in quick out you want to find the right speed to shift...

I would be surprised if his was still with the car when he bought it. Not everyone is so lucky.

Personally I find 5,500 RPM is a nice place to shift if you want to go quickly and not blow shit up. Also, check your oil make sure it is at the top mark on the dipstick. Check your oil about 15 minutes after you shut the car off if you just drove it to ensure most of the oil is back in the pan...

Not sure, I found the knob and the boot wedged under the rear seat. Unfortunately the boot was severely damaged. Looked like someone just cut it off.

Welcome to the "My 7M smokes...." club :3d_frown: In other news, my drivers side window motor seems to be stuck. Switch seems to work as I can hear the motor try to move. More fun to be had fixing that!

Personally never had squeaks from poly bushings I've installed... I suppose some kind of marine lubricant would work though.

On the topic of poly vs rubber, I vote poly every time. Chances are that if you do them now, the car will turn to dust before you have to do them again, and the change in ride is minimal. Will feel tighter and more firm, not harsher per se.
