Clutch looks familiar..
I am looking forward to seeing how this performes, only thing I would suggest is an additional oil drain in the head but that is only if it is going to live at the higher rpms.
This is a very good post, I have had multiple cars that have this same issue. Most of the time it ends up being a leak in tank from the pump to the hanger. Watch/ log fuel pressure. Idle pressure means nothing in this case, its what its doing when under a load.
What I did to resolve the oil issue on customers cars was to run a -12 drain from the back of the head and dump it back to the old j tube location. The 7m has a bad problem with sustained high rpm(over 6500 rpm) oil return. On any 7m I put together that will see 8k+ I do this as well as RB series.
those are looser than desired, look for a .015-.019 for both rods and mains. Your may have to either have the block line bored and resize the rods or have the bearings coated to take up that clearance.
car seems like its down on power. it should have a lot more mph if that was a clean run, but regardless auto cars make these cars a totally different animal.
my question had nothing to do with driving a car hard cold, it has everything to do with fueling adjustment when the engine is in different coolant temps.
Have him verify
Timing(ems is synced with the car)
Injector latency
Coil dwell
Is this a issue just warm or cold?
After these items are checked, the problem is going to be fuel and throttle accel fuel
