After being forced to park the car outside for two winters and becoming overly depressed at how the body was beginning to rot away after the work I done did, I sold the car two years ago. Thus ends this story.
Sad Face.
Another thing to consider is that Oil + Coolant = Acidy type stuff in oil pan which car wreak havoc on the main and rod bearings. Depending on how long BHG was happening, you may want to consider bearings... I had to.
Agreed, the Radiator cap is designed to be a failure point to some extent; The pressure rating in pounds (or KG or what have you) is designed to only hold that much pressure... and when so much pressure is made, it vents to the over flow. I may be babbling here, but.. mayhap that could keep...
Sup is still running fine. Went and got an estimate last month on fixing the rust holes that developed and hail damage that happened when I bought the car... to the tune of $3600.
But.... A by chance discussion with Emilio yielded an interesting proposition... big surprise coming soon..
^Probably soon... Gonna run the plugs for a week and pull them and see what they look like. Usually I change plugs every other oil change, so #1 being coated in oil is a new discovery. Want to see if it repeats
I lied. 550s and Lexus didn't happen. What did happen was this: Changed plugs and swapped cam covers for shiny pretty powder coated niftyness. Spark plugs came out as such... Cyl #1 Oily... :3d_frown: #2 Rich with a tint of red and slight blistering suggesting hint of lean. #3 looked stellar, #4...
This weekend I went to STEVE'S and we corrected some wiring issues as well as finally installed better intercooler and hard pipe!:icon_bigg
Also, finally taking recent interior pics!
Battery and Fan wiring fix
STEVE and Emilio and I in the fabrication/ process
Oddly enough I'm running a Sachs 6 puck sprung hub ceramic button type set up.. on a w58 with a GTE attached. Whilst breaking it in, it was a bit chattery, but seems to be holding just fine and haven't experienced any issues. I know it isn't a Spec or Southbend or anything... but it works pretty...
It may be an odd old school idea, but sometimes a Fuel Pressure Regulator failing can be the issue. When FPR is acting up, the vehicle will start fine when cold, but hot starts will create an issue as well as causing much needing to feather the throttle in a parking lot.
I'm not aware of a 7M...
Again, Rob...That really sucks. Hell I was there and helped take the head off and reading this post is sad. Well.. I guess you'll have room for your boat...
