It actually sounds like a mechanical issue. My speedometer cable has been making squeaky noises for some time, I just couldn't figure out where it was coming from. I had similar issues. My problem ended up being the a loose plug on the starter. I ran a wire from my batter to the starter plug that comes form the key and she started right up. Tried wiggling connections when it wouldn't start?
