Thanks!
It definitely wasn't when we started. I tanked so many of the parts because they were just covered in a thick layer of grime. It's definitely clean though now. That's for sure. :naughty:
Well that sucks for him. The AN line will be just fine if installed properly. I've never seen a properly installed AN fitting blow off and we used thousands of them on oiling systems aboard my Submarine. :bigthumb:
Cork Gaskets fail when improperly installed. There is no reason this setup...
If you notice the direction that I was grinding, no sparks were being thrown at the glass. All is fine. Glass is still smooth as a babies bottom. Promise. :drink1:
I'll try and snap some pics next time I'm at my shop. It looks kinda silly without all the lights, trim, wing, etc. etc. Definitely coming along though.
Just to update his build thread...
After getting it in the shop and seeing just how bad the body was we decided to do a full teardown and repaint of it. So now we have the engine bay COMPLETELY gutted, all trim has been removed, fuel door, fuel tank (for install of new pump), bumpers...
We still need to pull the front clip off to remove the factory oil cooler and intercooler/piping. A much larger/better oil cooler is going in along with a Mocal thermostat and an oil relocation kit. The intercooler I am furnishing is the God Speed Engineering intercooler/piping kit, a very nice...
An update-
In preparation for the motor and tranny being dropped in we have since completely gutted the engine bay of all electronics and components with the exception of the CMC, BMC, and the ABS Module. Everything else has been pulled out so that the bay can get a really good cleaning and a...
Mikey,
Those pics of when it was being loaded/still dirty don't do it justice AT ALL. That thing was absolutely FILTHY! It took about 25 minutes worth of credit at the car wash to get about 90% of it off. The rest will come off when it comes time for paint. :) Going to get the engine bay...
Came from Ebay, but when compared to Mishimoto equivalents, they are just as good. They're like 7-ply with 5-ply reinforcement. They don't crush anything like the stock hoses do and since they're silicone, they hold up to much higher temps and pressures.
Glad you like, I'm having fun...
I can only imagine how fun of a job that must've been. I mocked up his turbo today and made the softlines for the oil feed and return that will be replacing the factory piping. This should be an extremely fun car when finished.
ROFL.... I'm said builder of this engine. Since those pics were taken, the EGR cooler has been installed, intake runner, RC injectors, fuel rail, as well as misc. brackets and lift hangers.
