Default Wheel Fitment & Question Thread

5-4-09 I have been getting many PM's recently regarding wheel fitment. Can you all please just ask the questions in here? This is a very much active thread and all questions should be answered in a reasonable amount of time.

I have been seeing alot of wheel fitment threads on here recentley. So I hope this will clean it up a bit. Ask what you want about a wheels fitment and I will try and answer or actually anyone can help. Just remember 18" is not enough info. We need Diamter, Width, and Offset. With out those 3 there will be no answer.

Oh and for some reason people do not know the bolt pattern is 5x114.3

    Where to get wheels:
    Ebay
    Craigslist
    RBWheels.com (used)
    Memoryfab.com (used)
    Forums
    etc

    Common sizes and offsets:
18x8.5 +35 18x9.5 +35 are really common sizes and fit pretty good. Many examples on here
    Stock MK3's are 16x7 +37
    MK4 NA are 16x8 +50 16x9 +50
    MK4 TT are 17x8 +50 17x9.5 +50

Will add more info when I get time.

Alright here is a list of things that fit which will be updated every now and then.

    18x8.5+35 & 18x9.5+35 w/ 245/40/18 & 275/35/18 tires

    18x9.5+12 & 18x10+18 w/ 235/40/18 tires

These two links will answer most of the questions.

    http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

    http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

    1989 rims = 16" x 7.5" x 37mm offset

    MkIV TT Rims = 17" x 8.0" x 50mm offset (front)
    MkIV TT Rims = 17" x 9.5" x 50mm offset (rear)

Those are good but those are stock fitment. But if anyone has something they are stumped on others or my self can help figure it out.

My current set up is 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 with 35 offset all around. It is decently flush but if the front were like 25 I would be more happy. You can use those for a guideline. I am running -1.5 camber in the front and around -2 in the rear Tie size is 245/40/18 275/35/18

    Ask away.

    18x9.5+12 front, 18x10+18 rear
    235/40/18 front and rear
Work XT-7 in the front, XD-9 in the back.

I thought I had pics with the XT-7's on all around which is how it usually is, but I can't seem to find any and don't want to look anymore. But the 18x10+18 has the same outer fitment as an 18x9.5+12 so they both sit as flush.

Edit: Nevermind, found a side shot with xt-7's all around.

Thanks, I was surprised at how well they fit. I had bought the wheels to use on my S13, but they look better on the supra. We did have to roll the fenders, but that's something you're going to have to do if you want good fitting wheels anyway.

Is 235 the most you can fit in the rear without issues or was it the first tire you tried? Looks good for drift I suppose.

IMHO, Jose has one of the best wheel fitment to date. the new wheels he has are awesome and the pictures posted just don't do it justice.

EDIT: i stole a couple of joe's silv pics.
