Neat to see them side by side. The newer version looks very similar to the generic KYB offering. The KYB boot/baffle is plastic though, not rubber. If yours are rubber that's a difference between OEM and the KYB i guess. They otherwise look identical.

Best pics I can find of the KYB's from my overhaul are on this page: http://yotamd.com/toyota/mk3_supra/shocks_springs7.html

    How is this for irony?

As far as I am concerned the rear bump stops we have been talking about should have been superceded to the newer part number of 48341-14040. The rubber baffle is awesome and the bump stop itself appears no different.

In the case of the bump stops for the front of the car they did supercede the original part number of 48331-14060 to the newer 48331-14070...

At first glance, this looks nice, as it has a longer cover for keeping trouble away from the piston of the shock:

Left is 48331-14070, right is the older 48331-14060.

However, the hole in the center is only 16mm instead of the expected 19mm:

It is hard to tell the difference in the pic, sorry!
(I should have raised the older part so that the holes were the same distance from the camera.)

After about 30 minutes of trying to get the bump stop to slide down the piston I gave up and cleaned up my originals to reuse. Happily they were in excellent nick, completely unlike the rears.

Put some dishwashing soap or armor-all in the hole and they will slip on much easier.

Hmm, I had tried a bit of lubrication to no avail. These things were just too tight... I was worried I might break something if I kept at it when I gave up and went back to the originals.

Both versions of the new rears were perfect and slid right on, not sure why they small holed the fronts

I have the koni bump stops for my konis but those KYB bump stops look like the better option with the boot
