TEMS re-wire for manual control
I am sorry to wear out the discussion on TEMS... but I have seen several posts while searching under "TEMS" that is feasible to manually command settings from Normal/Sport/Firm by creating a short between different sets of input connections to the TEMS controller.
So my question is, does anyway have that definitive information and is able to share it? I would like to know what normal connectivity is on the connector, then which pins need to be shorted to manually command each position, as I will create my own manual control box.
What I have not done though is look at schematic in the TRSM, but it is not here right now, as I am working on my car in Father-in-laws shop, so can not reference at the moment. If this information can be determined by tracing out schematic, then just say so and I will do it tomorrow, but if not, I would appreciate someone sharing this information.
Thanks

Re: TEMS re-wire for manual control
Thanks for posting the link, one night I took the time to print the entire manual off, but like I said it is in the car which is not at home...
Ok looks like I have some choices, if anyone else has tried to to such a thing, chime in and let me know how it went, but I am not looking for a lot of choices, so I am thinking I will leave switch as it is, but when I am in sport mode, add a toggle inside somewhere that would emulate the speed sensor input B1 on the TEMS computer and it would activate the Firm mode until shut off.
Any thoughts on that, is it better to use a different input perhaps???
Thanks

Re: TEMS re-wire for manual control
- The SOGI write-up - check
- The HKS TEMS controller - check
Those are the two common options.
Add my info:
The mod is effectively performing the steering sensor system check
http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/librar.../fa/FA_39.html
Test this way:
jumper Ts & E1
TEMS switch Normal=both outside leds will flash
TEMS switch Sport= all three light solid
with sport and override switch on, it will stay in firm mode.
I think we found, back before the hack., it can be done all inside the cab.
i don't remember if anyone wired it up this way to confirm it though.
• use a two position switch i.e. an on/off switch.
• ground one side.
• use other side to tap the passenger kick panel, connector B1, pin 14, Violet wire.
- or possibly passenger kick panel, connector O1, pin 14 Violet wire.

i ran my wires through the fire wall, and did it the old SOGI: TEMS Firm Override, Cockpit controlled FIRM mode way, before searching this way out.
i also replaced my goofy coin holder on the instrument panel with a second fog light switch to control mine.

Re: TEMS re-wire for manual control
Thanks for additional info, I will investigate keeping all in the cab and let you know how it all works out... will probably be a month or so, just pulling motor now, so have plenty of other work to do first...
Thanks!
