We really gotta get the car on a scale to see where we are weight-wise at the moment. The weather has been rainy and wet so we aren't getting much done. That coupled with the fact that I am beginning to think the Supra carries some sort of curse with it, haha.

Since purchasing the car, the transmission on my AllTrac died, E's Turbo Civic potentially blew the HG, and I'm sure David has had some sort of car trouble...lol. If not, we'll give him some... ...maybe.

    AND,

I got my finger crushed in the alternator pulley which broke the bone, ripped out my fingernail and required stitches (I got gruesome pix for the diary! lol).

    less gruesome of the pix:

The other day the hood also fell and the latch hit E in the head. Look out, David! She's comin for you next!

Cars are like women. They suffer from jealous rages.

Unfortunately, flowers have no effect, and synthetic oil is expensive.

My also red Supra was cursed when I got it too. $4000 and 6 months later, it was exorcised. And Like Grim said, they are like women, so usually if you just keep throwing money at them they will leave you alone.

Great car. Trust me, that paint can buff to look brand new. Wash it with Soft Scrub, then do all 3 steps of Meguiars Deep Crystal System. Around $20 for all 3 bottles, but you have to wax the car fully 3 times. I will personally gaurantee you will get the results!

This Soft Scrub? Some sort of magical ingredient?

My red paint is pretty faded too, I've got the Meguiars system I was planning to use but have never heard of using Soft Scrub.

did you get rid of the hood latch as well? hood pins are free if you are quick enough at autozone

sucks for the BHG wonder how well the car will hold... and how long since it doesnt seem like you have the budget to fix the BHG completely heh

Re: The $2008 Grassroots challenge build-up thread

yep, hood latch is still there and will probably stay for now until we see how much is left in our budget, that would suck to get caught stealing $10 hood pins from autozone haha.

no BHG though, at least not yet. We did the compression test and everything was normal. We did get some used arp headstuds and plan on replacing the headgasket anyway just to be safe when we turn the boost up.

for now though, were just doing the free stuff, aka..weight reduction and cleaning everything up. then it will be a few engine mods and a cage once we find a seat thatll fit the budget. dont know if were gonna paint it or just try to buff it. We may just end up painting it since we have a spray gun and compressor but none of us have done it so we'll see what happens.

Tomorrow we're pulling the dash and getting all the sound deadening out so stay tuned for some pics.
