I've been doing a lot of reading of various threads . . . I'm sorry, I'm still rather confused!

Please bear in mind I haven't got a 2JZ engine yet, but I'm trying to suss out the wiring required to do an engine transplant. (All the various technical write ups presume you understand the basic layout!)

What plugs are on the end of the ENGINE loom? And which plug into the ECU, and which don't?

Am I correct in thinking that these plugs are all on the end of the 2JZ engine loom:

    A (E10) - plugs in ECU
    B (E9) - plugs into ECU
II1 - ends up near ECU to pick up body or dash wiring
IJ1 - ends up near ECU to pick up body or dash wiring
IJ2 - ends up near ECU to pick up body or dash wiring
EA1 - ends up near fuse box
EA2 - ends up near fuse box

Am I correct? Are there any I've missed out?

Sorry if I'm being a dummy, but all the various wiring notes around the internet presume you already know this !

Still no alternator plug update? I stalk your thread like a jaguar!!! Will you be addressing both the two and three plug variations by any chance?

Soon. It took me about a month to get all of that info, even though it was widespread, I verified what to be correct.

    Hey guys.
I went on a 10 hour car trip with my cousin to Dubai to get a 2jz block for my 1.5jz project and ended up buying a full 2jzgte vvti engine, i am hoping that the 2jzgte block is the same as the vvti.

Any way, my question is about the Serpentine Belt. I already took out the A/C off my 1jz and used the audi belt, and i am planning to take out the A/C for the 2jz. Can i use the same belt or are they different?

The belt is 40mm shorter. (Or 1.5")

Just take a tape measure, run it around the pulleys after you have removed the power steering and A/C and you will see the belt size you need.

The wiring info has been added for the round plug alternator setup.

Keep in mind. I have seen some 1JZ harness where the round plug is in the engine harness and not on the body harness. It's easier to extend the stock one. I will look up to see how it's done if you have a round plug already on your 1JZ engine harness.

Hey Andy, here is what Tweak'd Performance gave me for oval plug info on my 86.5 NA to chaser 1JZ:

"I'm assuming you're going from the round Alt plug to the oval
plug. Looking into the back of the round connector. The TOP pin goes
to pin 3 on the oval connector. BOTTOM RIGHT goes to pin 1, and
BOTTOM LEFT goes to pin 2 on the oval connector."

Hope this helps your search, and hope you can identify and label these for me! I can get color coordination as soon as I'm out to my car next.
