    Default Starting build #2 , I WANT 500 RWHP...

So I've had my 87' "Burgundy" for about 7 years. It had been sitting for the past 4 years now in my garage with a blown MHG. I'm finally ready to do this thing right. I've just got the engine out and disassembled. Sent to the machine shop last week and waiting for the go ahead on what size pistons, bearings, MHG to use. I'm going to have the entire rotating assembly balanced with forged pistons and rods, also go through the head and have a valve job done. So far I have lex afm, 550's, safc 2, AFPR, walbro, profec-b. I really want to reach 500rwhp and have piece of mind the engine will hold up. My current dilema is what turbo/manifold setup to go with. I saw a guy on 7mpower with a t4 adapter on his stock manifold and was wandering how well that would actually work.

    here's some current pics

A GT35r or billet precision 6265 would do the trick. I made 515 at 28psi on my HTA billet 62mm with just a bone stock used JDM engine and SAFC and supporting mods. However on pump and meth it makes 435rwhp, which is pretty good on the street and has been super reliable for over a year of hard driving at that power.

So I just got a call from the machine shop, he said he broke the coolant pipe banjo bolt on the back of the head and damaged the threads, has anyone
run into this. Any suggestions for fixes other than a new head.

Were your threads damaged or were you able to just remove the damaged pieces. This sucks I was ready to start ordering parts
but if this guys tells me the head is bad I'm gonna cry that was my last spare one.

Using that tool the threads were ok, don't know what he's tried so far he might have killed the threads if he's used a conventional easy out as they tend to expand the broken part....

I have no direct experience with the turbo yet, but I'm really thinking about going with the borg warner S300SX 83/75. Very similar to the GT35R in spool, but costs less and flows more at higher boost levels. See my build thread for some discussion on that series turbo. Good luck!

Check this out, wonder if its worth the money over the stock manifold. I looked at that billet precision turbo and it looks NICE. mmm I love turbos.

So have some updates. I had a machine shop custom machine a larger coolant banjo bolt for the back of the cylinder head
that broke and they tapped the threads larger in the head, it came out perfect. I just ordered some goodies.
    - .020 over CP forged pistons
    - Eagle rods
    - Fidanza light weight flywheel
    - stage 3 Spec clutch
    - Clevitte bearings
    - Torque plate ( really sucked getting this, but I live in CO and nobody has one)
Still deciding on which turbo, Billet Precision 6265 or 6765.
