    Default Mr.Yuk's Swap/Build

I've been requested to start a build thread, so here goes...

First off, The car that is being Frankenstiened/ Modded/ Upgraded/ Engine swapped/ Whatever, began life as an '88 N/A Gloss Black supra with some interesting mods which I picked up in October of '08.

The interesting mods I found on said Sup were the usual intake and exhaust upgrades (Header, Intake blah blah blah) and then, one day whilst changing cam seals, I discovered AEM adjustable cam gears, and later a bunch of local guys and I decided it [I]might[I] have cams. The N/A was a j-spec (yeah.. big whoop I know) but for whatever was done to it, pulled fairly well.

    And then I got stupid.

Two years later finds my Supra on jack stands with the engine being replaced for a 7MGTE.. amongst everything else I plan on doing, what follows is the B.S. and shinnanigans I'm going to put my self through in an effort to try to not blow this 7m up.

Before I get started on all the Build stuffs, HUGE thanks goes to 92nsx, emilio, Leecheeter, Toyotanos, and waaay more people than I could try to list in any sort of order (and there is no order.. however I owe 92nsx many and many a beer)

So.. here goes a build thread. I apologize for shitty picture quality, most of these pics were taken with a cell phone.

Well, While I'm trying to figure out this issue with my card reader.. Here's some Pics of the car BEFORE I went all swap happy.
Note: The 18" Konings are gone and have been replaced with 16" ARs

When I first the car, it also came with an MSD Box all MSD'd in there.. yeah... I got rid of it, Car ran better with out it.

Here's the conglomeration of wires and craziness too. Enjoy.

Ok, so now that card reader issues are as solved as they're gonna be -And now that I have "borrowed" internets- here are pics of the pulled motor after 4 hours of degreasing and prior to taking everything apart. Notice the oh-so-stylish Superjoke filter!!! AWESOME!

---------- Post added at 07:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:37 PM ----------

I'm going to try to keep from skipping as much as possible, but after several months of the engine sitting on a stand at home, we FINALLY took the head off and found a very, very, very sad looking headgasket, upon removal of said headgasket, Cross blow was discovered between cyl 5 and 6.
After scraping the old material off, We found some pitting also between cylinders 5 and 6 on the fire ring and pitting on the back side of 6. I didn't get pics of the pits, but for your viewing pleasure..... B.....H......G!!!!!!!!!!!!!

---------- Post added at 07:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:45 PM ----------

I forgot to mention that all that was found AFTER replacing the Main bearings and when Rod bearings were about to be done. The pitting made me a sad panda. So... screw it! Head AND block are off to the machine shop. Here's what happens when you request a 20 finish at the St.Cloud Auto Value machine shop...$152.38 later... (and seriously.. that's all it cost me. The phone camera doesn't do justice)

More Later. Also forgetting to mention, So far the build is focusing on reliability (HA!) and fun. I'm shooting for about 300whp and not having to fix the car every two weeks. As I progress putting things up, I will try to be as detailed as possible as well as give any after market part numbers I used ( I work at a Parts City in Clearwater MN)
Also, Toyotanos, if I forget anything that you were there for, please chime in.

Drew, you're going to love your car when its done. 350whp feels ridiculous right now and that's with a big laggy turbo. You run a 57 trim and you'll be more streetable than I am!

I also have a name- its Steve...you should know that. lolerskates and roflcopters!
