    Default THK87's 1987 Supra N/A

    It's a 1987 Toyota Supra

    It has 153857 original miles.
    7MGE
    W58
    Cruise Control
    Automatic Air Control
    Power Windows
    Power Locks
    Fog Lights

I am finding more about this one as i play with it Click here to enlarge
The engine was running fine and my buddy i got it from daily drove it. he sold it to a kid and he blew the HG and sold it back to my buddy. He then took it to a shop and had the block and head cleaned up and what not, they ended up charging him twice the amount he was quoted. He refused to pay and took the car home and the shop kept the head.
From what i can see and gather... a new OEM Head is gonna run around $500-600 bucks and I have been searching and finding JDM Import low mileage engines for a just a tad more... so thats my move.

It pretty much needs a front clip

The hood, headlight buckets, bumper, fenders and lights are all dented and messed.
    *Fixed as of 1/19/2010

The front bumper is getting replaced
The running lights and turns are getting new smoked out lenses

If i watch where i buy this stuff from, i can keep the price down pretty easy.
My buddy and I have been searching for stuff and have found things I like already.

I can tell by just looking at the interior and how its set up, that it was a well thought out and designed sports car back in the day and they did not leave out anything.

I will have all the little bugs worked out. and replace what needs replacing
Before any "visual modifications" go on, normal maintainance is obviously top priority.
That being said... if its a normal maintainance item that needs replaced and i already planned on "upgrading" it, then it will be upgraded will i have it "down".

    It needs:

    JDM Import 7MGE
    Front Nose
    Upper Nose Lip
    Turn Signals & Running Lights

and other little stuff I am sure to get it back to commision
But here is what I want to do to it before summer hits.

    JDM Import 7MGE Engine
    Vented&Slotted Rotors
    Stainless Steel Brakelines
    Ram Air Intake
    18x7.5 w/ 225/40ZR18s
    2.5in Catback
    Interior Cleaning
    Cut Springs (lower it some)
    CA Bushings
    Ball Joints
    Stereo System
    Stage 1 Jet Black Paint
    Smoked Out JDM Lenses

and I am sure other little stuff will come up.

I do not want to make a race car out of it nor do i want to make it ridiculously fast.

I want a nice performing, and looking Supra
that will last me a while.
It needs to be a good Daily Driver and have no problems... I have enough of those with my Crawler which is why i am making a new DD.
Anyways enough of the rambling, if you want any pics or have anything to add or anything... let me know.
The direction of my Supra is pretty set for now.

    Enjoy my new toy.

I've done several "frame-ups" this will be cake walk. And worth the work in the end.

Now what is the best Metal HG to buy for the buck? PN's would be helpful as well if anyone has any as most I am finding are for the 7MGTE (I don't know if that works for the N/A engines)

Hunting was tiring and fun, but haven't got anything, I have til December 1st til the season is over though.

Also, I kind of want to keep most of the interior stock... just cause to me, Toyota did a FABULOUS job on the design and the look of a "Toyota Muscle Car" interior is BA in my eyes... so that all will stay stock for the most part. I am getting the other Stock BLUE seat and I have the E-Brake Boot.

Anyone who has or knows a good place to get the following for a super decent price, let me know.

    Upper Nose Lip
    Evo Body Kit
    Smoked Out JDM Lenses
    "Red" Center Brakelight
    OEM Spolier
    Front Fenders (stock or not)
    Radio Mounting Brackets

    Good luck bro.

Look into swapping in a 2jzge would be about the same cost as a nice 7mge.
Slowest supra in all the land.
Was 7MGTE, now going LSX basic mods again.

Yes the most expensive part will be the 1jz bell housing.

Otherwise the 2jzge is pretty commonly had for $250-$500 and is good for plenty of power later on.

Driftmotion sells those, I was on there site early this morning. any info on some 2JZGE's would be awesome. i'd swap mine to that if I could find one and have the swap stay right about $800, as I was planning on dropping the money tax time on a 47k miles JDM JMGE imported from Japan from a place in British Columbia. I am interested in the 2JZ, just have to keep this on somewhat of a budget.

    Got a link man?

& oh yeah this should be fun and not too hard.
Much easier then I am used to.

I built an 85 4Runner from a shell and frame for $500 bucks and sold it for $3000. had full 22RTE Turbo SR5 Interior, Marlin Crawler suspension, rebuilt W56 Trans and low mileage 22RE, did all the wiring myself and what have you. Now I am no expert but I am not new to it is all. I got some swaps under my belt. I fully swapped my 90 4Runner from Auto to 5Speed, using a full 91 4Runner Engine & Dash Harness, Dash, Pedals and Trans/Tcase.
