MAF cleaning?

I know on most MAFs you can clean the wire gently to remove the build up of dirt and debre using electrical cleaner. Do the Mafs on our mk3 turbo's need it, or whats the deal with it?

we have Afms (air flow meter) not mafs which you should not clean other than with a cloth no solvents!

I haven't heard of many members having any luck cleaning these at all.

All you will do is scratch the reflector.
