Will OEM GTE Headgasket be enough put the the motor in non Interference area with Crower Small core 272's? I know the 1jz head bumps compression up slightly.

question is, what pistons are you running? stock GE pistons? or have you replaced them with a GTE style piston

with gte, i dont believe they are interference, not sure on the GE pistons

Will be GE pistons. how low does C/r go with GTE HG? does it reach the GTE's 8.5:1?

FYI, I'm on 1mm OS intake valves in my 1J head on a 2J-GE stock pistons, and the large core crower 1J exhaust cam (10.3MM LIFT), as long as ur timing belt doesn't go snap, you're going to be just fine with a stock TT headgasket (1J/2J).

If your engine isn't interference then you need bigger cams! :)

You'll only have to worry if your timing belt snaps (very rare).

Timing belts can jump teeth for a number of reasons. they dont have to snap. and for the record the lift is about 9.3mm if I have to go with a cometic thats slightly thicker than OEm let me know. but I would prefer to make the motor non interference.

I'm not quite sure if it will interfere to be honest bootage since I don't know how high they will touch. the way to test is to spin the engine while they are in at TDC
