Plugs and Wires

I am thinking about Replacing my spark plugs and wires. I am not too mechanical but I learn quick and was wondering if anyone could explain to me exactly how to do it. I know some basics but I need some help.
I was also wondering how much it would cost for all new plugs and wires? I know there are good better best but what do you guys recomend?

i love my ngk wires. round 50-60 bucks on ebay. i hear they are comparable to like a msd set. both 8.5 mm i think. im also running ngk iridiums. pretty pleased with them. like 3 a plug i think???? with them both, car idles smooth.

NGK wires are good and a decent price, but the OEM Sumitomo wires fit better for not much more money. The Sumotomo wires will last you over 100,000 miles (at least mine did).

It's not too hard, but you do have to pull the throttle body off, which means draining a quart or so of coolant out first. While you're there, you may as well run a compression test.

Autozone is listing NKG Iridiums at like $6.99

Should I look somewhere else? or am looking at the wrong thing?

im not exactly sure how much. i know i got them at advanced auto parts. but price for you might be different cause i have a discount there. and it has been over a year since i bought em.

doing a basic tune up isnt that bad. there are 4 boltd that hold the tb to the y pipe, 2 bolts to brace it, and 3 bolts for throttle linkage. i can usual do it without taking off the coolant lines, so i dont have to loose coolant. as far as hoses i take off 2 vacume hoses and a oil vacume hose. its the biggest hose on the tb. that gives me enough slack to pull the tb over the intake manifold.

When I went to do my tune-up this spring my local parts guy very strongly stressed that the iridium plugs are no good for turbo-charged cars. Apparently the iridium tips melt and foul very quickly compared to non-iridium as a result of the heat from the turbos. It's not instant, but apparently a season of hard driving can do them in.

I asked around at a few other parts places and got the same story. However, Toyota recommends iridium for all their turbo vehicles.

Thoughts/experiences anyone?

My thoughts are you shouldn't listen to anything people in parts stores say. And fwiw iridium has a melting point of nearly 4500 F...
