Well i have been all over the web and i am sick n tired of these mkiv meets.:icon_evil I think we should start talking ideas for a meet strictly mk3 owners... I am in michigan and here is my idea... we should do everyone nearby like ohio.illinois.indiana. n so fourth.. if you are from anywhere else n want to drive that would b fine as well. i want to start talking about places n when.. post your ideas..... we could meet up somewhere all day talk check out the rides n then may b go cruising.. if we do it here in michigan i know a great place where we can get some action... trust me lots of ricers n the is somne pretty tough cars as well but just picture abut 15-20 mk3's cruising around :love: :love: post ideas...... n e styate should b fine but we have to all agreee

Yeah, I'm Matt.... apparently we've met? And I've been thinking a lot about doing a little trading with the guy.

As for the mkIV's, let 'em come if they want, they're ussually only around for what.... 10-15 mins anyway. :biglaugh: I'm j/k to any mkIV owners, but we're all thinking that.

the mkIV owners that were at the hooters meet, a month or so ago we're cool. Hell, the one guy even stayed late and let us check out his car, which is a lot better than I can say for the mkIV guys at Chi2k5 that left before the drags were over, and none went down the strip. Just thought I should throw that in to prove not all mkIV owners are asses.

well...as far as who will be allowed to come, I say that this should just be a meet for MK1,2 and 3's. Nothing against the MK4's but Ive seen plenty of MK4's and fully built ones as well...I would like to have a meet to just check out old school supras, ya know? its a beautiful thang, so yeah, we need to start deciding on the whereabouts and exactly when we plan for this. Indianapolis is a fairly easy city to get to...obviously mapquest is the way to go if you're going to try to make your way here...but I think Indianapolis would be good...after all, it is kind of in the center of everything.

Although the turn out wasn't amazing at CHI2k5 it was still alot of fun! At least the drag day I had a blast and I didn't even have my car with me. I'd say 30 Supra's showed up for the drag day.

As for the meet if someone is willing to come get me I will tag along anyway. My car won't be done till probably the end of the year anyway. Tom you should pick my ass up :P

FOR CHI2K6 I am a recruiter!!!! SO when the post(s) go up about chi2k6, sign your butt up! We will be having a convoy going from the columbus/seymour area this year (for all you ky guys to meet up) then to indy (for all you indy & ohio guys to meet up) then off to chicago and picking up straglers along the way. I and any one that follows me in the convoy WILL NOT BE GOING TO GRANTS FIRST - ITS 15 HOURS TO CHICAGO THAT ROUTE. I and Matt made it back from Chicago is 3 hours, and that was with filling with oil and gas!

I WAS SEVERELY let down by the KY guys and OH guys last year. Hardly any of you showed! Tisk tisk.

okay, for all that wondered, to run at IRP (Indianapolis Raceway Park)...it is $14 to run all day(until closed)...and $7 to watch the runs. Also, not too far away from the track is Modern Speed Labs...which, of course, HAS A DYNO. The normal pay is $75 for 3 pulls...which is still a pretty good deal (compared to some)...and I've heard in the past that with large groups (such as us, hopefully), they will allow 3 pulls for $40. I dunno though...just some options and info! Remember, get the word around! I'd like to participate in a real meet with a lot of people! :) cya guys

clearly you're missing the point.

1. the IS300 IS an altezza, just w/the 2JZGE (yes, it's RWD).

2. the 2JZGE has a different exhaust and intake port config than the 2JZGTE, therefore making bolting up the 2JZGTE's twins impossible- you'll need an adaptor plate or a custom manifold. the amount of work needed to do this would equal or exceed the cost of just buying an existing kit.....and then there's the whole power output thing- stock twins = 400 rwhp on a good day, the sky is the limit on a good single....

ahh Matt, i already told you this!!!! i know a dyno that is very easy to get to....and not very far away AT ALL. its called MSL (ModernSpeedLabs).
for normal cost, it is $75 for 3 pulls...and i have heard from some people that for special events(such as a group or meeting), they have done as cheap as $40 for 3 pulls...and they do tuning(you or them) as well. check out the website...type the addy in on www.mapquest.com. its less that 15 min. away from Indianapolis Raceway Park.

As for dyno, we need some of the mk4 indy guys to hook us up with dyno time at one of the indy shops.

Id enjoy autox. Ive not had much time to driving my Supra, but i enjoy driving down winding roads here in Kentucky in my dads car. Granted thats not safe, i take it easy but i love flyin out those turns with the front end (haha) sliding and the car whipping around. I have had some time there in my car and its fun. I live to the top edge of the Northern Kentucky Plateau. haha Its so nice.

Any way, i would probably only make it to one day of the meet, if it were multidays. Most likely Saturday.

We had a LOT of people who were supposed to be, and said that would be, in Indy for Chi2k5 and we never saw them.... if you guys have lived in the midwest for very long, ya should know that just better ever winter ends at a different time than the previous year...so i say no EARLIER than Late March, and no LATER than mid-April. We wont "really" be able to pick a date w/in the week this far from spring because winter could hang around for a while...besides, I should have a majority of my car finished by then.

chi2k6, i heard it was shitty last year but i saw a vid of sf and it looked cool. anybody have dates and a location to that s for that is the best plan. we go to chi2k6 if happy with that and then when it is hot again we plan out 1 to 2 weeks in advance so we have a forcast and basis on the weather... also i need dates and a location on chi2k6 so i can take off work.....

Hey just saw this thread and I am up for an MK3 mini-meet.

I like the Vegas idea - road trip tour to Vegas with a bunch of MK3's filling the road. But realistically keeping it in the midwest would make it a weekend deal and much more feasable for all.

Well we'd have to know the supra community well and what city help is in and plan around that. That way we have shops and checkpoints to maintain our cars in the cities we pass? :) Worst case would be stopping at some unknown garage or parts store for help, but that's what makes the trip exciting right? :)

We can take up the cost of the fairgrounds at SupraSport.com, and we work closely with most of the import shops in Minneapolis/St.Paul area.

Nothing has been accomplished yet.

Indie was suggested for late March but others said may be too early to tell what the weather would be like.

Indie was suggested for April 7,8, or 9 but no comments were made.

Chi2k6 has been suggested and scrap the mini-meet. People have said lets do both still.

MN/WI border meet was suggested, others dropped out at that suggestion, too far of a drive.

For Indie, suggestions have been Hooters, Dyno time, IRD, autocross, maybe a swap?

I would suggest Indie on either April 15/16 or May 6/7.

I'm up for local meet-n-greets here in MI too after March 17th (garaging the car until then). Possibly in the middle so we're not biased towards east siders or west siders. Lansing BW3's is a nice place and the parking meters on the street next to it can be reserved (just went to a meet a couple of months back where that was done) so we could all park together.

Personally, I don't think a 2 day would work out very well. Sure the intentions are good, but 2 days for a meet of... oh, I dunno, 3-10 cars just seems kind of silly. I'd say we just all meet up in Greenwood, do a little cruising, swing by the suds, hit up IRP, Meet at someones place for a cookout (would be pretty kick-ass), I just don't know what we would do that we would need two days for.

By the way, I will be working 13-14 weekend, but it would only effect Sunday if everyone else would rather have this date. I'd prefer the 6-7, just because the sooner the better, ya know?

I'm hosting a mini-meet, probably the third Saturday in March. Depends on the weather. Basically it's a bonfire/cookout on 5 acres, plenty of parking and a long straight road in the middle of nowhere. Lots of Cavaliers to beat up on in West Milton. Food, fire, fuel, and conversation; just bring drinks and something to sit on. More info as the date approaches.

haha, yeah, I didn't get that either. Hey, i know this is off subject of thread, but Osaka JDM Motors....they are selling inspected, low mileage, tested and all 7MGTE's for 700. Doesn't that seem awfully cheap? Hmm...I just might consider that fixing my RK..that way I know i'd be starting off fresh...just take e verything I have on this motor and swap it...Of course S&H will cost a little but wow...700:)...and as for a meet...If we meet in GWood...you're right, doing a 2dayer would be kind of weak w/ only a few people...Ohio meet might be in consideration for me as well....

(wishful thinking) So next winter it will sit peacefully in the garage without being torn apart and will be ready to go at a moments notice next spring. :icon_bigg

OK People over on IndyCarz.com have a meet planned on March 23 at Muncie raceway if anyone is interested. It's about an hour north/northwest of Indy on 69 (iirc) That would work for me, cause I'm always looking for exscuses to see the old lady up at BSU. Hot roommates for all who attend! Just throwing this out there, because that way IF not a whole lot of Supras show up at the meet, there will atleast be some Mustangs/Hondas/whatever to beat up on. :icon_conf
