Is that box wood or fiberglass??

85celicasupra
03-19-2009, 08:42 PM
wood. The box is actually pretty small.
3/4" mdf 2 chamber box with 1 cu.ft per chamber, then it has a top and front facia that make it flushed out, which is made out of 1/2" particle board to save weight.

eventually I will make a custom fiberglass one with amp rack that sits down in there a little better.

Yea i got 4 12s and 2 8s but my amp is a 700watt amp so i can only power 1 12" and 1 8" for it to sound nice

I have a 1000 watt amp powering those two 12s

I will be putting in a 400 watt (on top of my 4x50 head unit) to power my 2x6.5 inch circles and 2x4 inch circles in the stock locations.

will have a total of 1600 watts in my small mk2...should be plenty loud..but well balanced and good sounding.

lol, the jackhammer is waaaayyy to heavy(weight wise and money wise). but that sub i have is rated at 2400 watts rms. and 4800 or 5000 waats peak. so i think the amp set up i have will go nicely with it. i plan on building an amp rack where the rear seat bottom is. and the sub will be in a large box in the rear probably facing up ward towards the glass.

lol yea i have one of the big amps powering 2 kicker compvrs right now. its now loud enough for me. the big amp are rated at 1000 wats rms but they actually do around 1400 or 1500 watts rms and the little amp is rated at 50 by 2 at 2 ohms, but ill be runnin it at 4 ohms probably. so that whole set up is probably 2800 to 3000 watts rms. i hope its really loud! lol.
