View Full Version : Transmission? slow movement at 2400 rpm why?
Last week it all began in the morning, usual college day. I Started my car allowed it warm up for a while,shift to D and all i got was high rev at 3 to 5 milles per hour.Is the trasmission? , the auto clutch? or something else I need help you guys. Also if it is the trasmission ,It would be awsome if someone recomends some good trusted place where to get a new or rebuld the stok one, ether a web or a place near Orange county Calif.I probably will swhich to manual to get a ricer feeling. Anyways hope to get help thanks.
Does it have fluid in the trans?

Change the filter screen when you did it?
Have you dipped it recently warm and idling?

It's prolly an old wifes tale but my instructor told me if a tranny isn't regularly service, and you change the oil/filter after its hasn't been changed in years you prolly shouldn't. I'm not sure how much proof/truth there is behind that.

^^ i wouldnt listen to that. old/bad tranny fluid could ruin the motor, thats why there are service intervals.

roadboy, the stories he had were of older gm vehichles, but how do they differ from import autos?

noo i do agree with you and this is true. my dad being a mechanic for ever has told me this and it HAS happened to him before. its legit.
