My 7mgte is burning about one qt. of oil every week and a half or so. its got over 100k miles on it. is this normal? when I floor the car it shoots out black smoke..is the oild getting passed the piston rings or is the turbo burning it?
any insight would be great, thanks again

Black smoke is fuel. Blue smoke is oil. Have you checked to see if you're leaking oil under the car?

run your finger around the inside of the exhaust tip, is it dry or greasy?

more than likely if your rings are worn you will have excess blowby and it will force oil into your "accordian" pipe take that off and check for oil leading from the crankcase breather...

do a compression test and call it a day...

There should be oil on the inside of the accordion pipe. Your stock PCV runs into the pipe. Those are oil vapors that get into there.
Step #1. Do a compression test, record results.
Step #2 Put a small amount of oil into each cylinder and re-test. If your compression results rise your rings are worn. To what degree they are worn depends on how well/bad your results are.

there shouldnt be a lot of oil in your intake pipe. if you have a lot, then there is other problems which could be turbo seals or excessive blowby... neither of which are good. i dont have any oil residue in my intake pipe
