I was wondering how much power can the stock internals in the 1jzgte engine handle with out problems. Becuz im considering getting one and wanted to get the most power out of it stock as i can.... well i mean stock internals atleast. im planning to a big single turbo upgrade an larger injectors an some tunning and was hoping to get atleast 550 rwhp... just want to knw is that is possible with the 1j's internals without having to do a piston swap or anything....

A local here recently did 1070 hp on a bone stock 2jz !!!!, it did blow up big time, but I think he did 4-5 runs of over 1000 before it blew up. The 1j should be able to do pretty much what a 2j can, because the piston speed is way slower than the 2j and the rods are shorter but same thickness and design, so in turn would be stornger. Also the pistons are said to be interchangable. So hardware wise it look like the 1j should be able to make more than the 2j, execpt it has .5 L less dissplacement and smaller head ports and tiny cams. Tuning is the key to power, you can put the best parts ever in a motor but if the tune is bad you will melt any motor.

Thats the truth!!!
Its all in the tune

As much as you want, if you learn how to type w/o using ebonics.
I'll let you know how I do; I'll have my 67, 264s, fuel, and ems done shortly.

I made 543rwhp @ 24psi on my 1jz with a gt35r and stock head gasket.

How long did the head gasket last running that kind of power? And is it a good idea for me to plan on investing in arp head studs and a metal head gasket in the long run if im shooting for around 600hp i did in my 7m because we all know the 7ms head gasket are allergic to boost....

The 1jz head gasket is metal. I would also highly recommend that you invest in some ARP studs if you're shooting for high horsepower. Good luck.

can i use the ones that are in my 7m or is just better to by new arp studs?lol..

7M ARP studs are different than the 1jz/2jz head studs...

It all depends on the condition of the turbos. Some have run 18psi daily driven and others have run stock boost and they explode. Either way the stock twins are a ticking time bomb.

ok say i did a t4 turbo upgrade an 680cc injectors with an aftermarket fuel regulator. What kind of piggy back systems would i need to get the 1j tuned right?

AFC should work, although from what i've heard 680's is kinda the limit when tuning with an AFC.

You're asking questions that have been covered on here hundreds of times. If you'll look through some of the threads in this section, you'll be amazed at what you can learn. It's all been covered before at least once. Good luck.

A good regulator and a MSD vacuum assisted distributor will be more than enough

If you want to peak a 1jz go with a standalone such as the plug and play stinger its afordable as well.
Most people will not run a engine at peek boost hp all the time because you dont want to boost more then 15-17psi on pump gas depending on tune/managment.
Race fuel or meth I have heard up to 30psi on metal hg is possible.

I agree. You will need Race Gas and or Meth plus one hell of a tuner.

One more thing whats the most whp that somebodies put down on the dyno on stock twins and how long do they usually last running at there peak boost?

I don't have an exact number or a link but I have seen around 400whp. This is with all supporting mods and more. All said and done you are running the twins well beyond what they were designed for and they will not last long. I think most people run the stock twins right around 14psi. This should net you around 300whp with supporting mods and a tune.
Like i said the stock twins can last from 5 minutes to a couple years running at stock boost or 18psi. It all depends on the condition of the twins and shear luck of the draw. If you want big power a big single is the way to go.

That would problably be me, I made 422hp at the wheels on pump gas, I believe it would not be possible to reach that high of a horsepower on stock twins with a stock ecu with a piggy back ecu.... EMS my friend, get it, get it tuned then comeback.

the search button works wonders, if you use it.

HAHAHA! :biglaugh:
Call Holley, they'll be able to get you some sweet parts for making big 1J power!
