This is the official intinerary thread for the Indy2k9 meet.

http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/3715/indy2k9flier.jpg (http://img19.imageshack.us/my.php?image=indy2k9flier.jpg)

O'REILLY RACEWAY PARK - INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA
http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/9797/orpground2ji2.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

This isn't your typical "Supra mini-meet".
The environment is killer for any car enthusiast!
I'd love to have a wider range of generational mix this year
(Last year, there were only 4 MKIV's & ZERO MKII's)......
Mostly because there's A LOT of media coverage at the Winged Warrior events,
And being able to show off all our cars in style would just kill it. :)

Some of the basics:

Where: Indianapolis, IN
When: May 9th and 10th, 2009
Who: Supra owners/enthusiasts & anyone who wants to join the festivities.

****INITIAL GATHERING PLACE - KROGER PARKING LOT @ SOUTHER PLAZA OFF OF I-465 on EAST. ST (aka US 31 N).
MEET TIME: 8:00AM
DEPARTURE FOR O'REILLY RACEWAY PARK AT 9:00AM

BE READY OR GET DRUG! :)

Kroger:
4202 S East St, Indianapolis, IN
(317) 786-3304

DAY ONE
Saturday - May 9, 2009:
-Morning gathering (Location to be determined)
-Group together and head out to O'Reilly Raceway Park for Winged Warrior V.
-(IIRC, for $20), You'll get to make a couple passes down the track during the event.......again, all going to Riley Hospital for Children.
-Thanks to Jeff @ ModifiedAutoDesign, We will have a DynoDynamics portable dyno set up during the WW-V event!
Special pricing!!! $30 for 3 pulls! With available wideband/AFR! :)
-After spending most of day there, will head out for a nice dinner,
Followed by some "spirited" driving in the evening hours with tons of car enthusiasts on the Southside of Indy.

Note: This is Indy 500 Qualifying/Pole Day Weekend!!!!!!
Every year on this weekend, there are ALWAYS lots of exotics/nice cars out.
Come join the fun! :)

DAY TWO
Sunday - May 10, 2009:
-Afternoon gathering (Place undetermined at the moment)
-For you guys that are making a weekend trip out of the Indy meet,
We will be having a nice scenic cruise down to Brown County (South of Indianapolis and likely end up at a park for a nice BBQ).

***READ FURTHER IF YOU'D LIKE TO BE MORE INFORMED ON THE MEET***

In past meets, We've always had AT LEAST 25+ Supra's.
And all the while, that may not sound like a lot,
But when I say there were AT LEAST 50+ Supra owners...
Now it sounds like a party...........:)

If you didn't join us for last years Indy meet....
Check out this thread to get a feel for what you should be expecting. :)
-INDY2K8- (http://http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71834&highlight=indy+meet)

Here are a few things I'd like to take into consideration for the meet, or are already going to be happening:

- Joining the Winged Warrior Shootout for part of the day.
( Winged Warrior Performance Shootout (http://www.wingedwarrior.net) )
- Fast Times Indoor Karting...Nuff said. ;)
( Fast Times Indoor Karting (http://http://www.fastimesindoorkarting.com) )
- The Cheesecake Factory.....Pricey, but is it delicious or what?
- Cruise to Brown County...(South of Indianapolis)...
Famous for "car cruises" with lots of scenic routes and great for pictures.
Could end it from there with a little BBQ at one of the parks.

I'm a one man show here....So don't hesitate to throw out some ideas for events since we'll be spreading out the meet over a two day period. :)

Also, Once *EVERYTHING* is set in stone, I'll start factoring in Hotel reservations/recommendations once we get a little bit closer to the meet!

And as always, If you have any questions,
Shoot me a PM or give me a call (317) 395-8362

:)

You know i'll be there!! haha.. I like the idea of the indoor go-carting.. somthing we havent done at a meet yet, and i think it would be pretty fun! Im also in for the cruise and BBQ :D
For those that weren't there last year, the Winged Worrir was alot of fun. I would recommend doing it agian. Its like a car show with drag racing and autocrossing. Its nice to be able to show off our supras along with being able to see abunch of other sweet cars. Im up for just about anything really.

I'll be there for sure! Last year was a great time! For those of you who have been to, or know what Truck Bash is; our meet joining with Winged Warrior was better than any truck bash ever, hands down. Tons of cars, lots of racing, small road coarse set up, car show etc. damn.. I'm with SuicideSuprA70.. Too much time till then and can't wait to see everyone!!
If it's on weekend of may 17th or 24th, I won't make it, but if Winged Warrior is that weekend, do it Ill just pass this year.
Now I just have to start busting ass on my Supra.. haven't even started on it and I only have approx 3 months if we're joining Winged Warrior!! SHIT!

Go to Rascals in Whiteland. Tell them you need a couple gallons of methanol and/or methanol mix.

.............Don't hydrolock your motor, Matt. :nono:

Scooter - I'm undecided. I know that being smack dab in the middle of MI/IL/OH/KY...
We're likely going to have some long distance attendee's...
And nothing sucks more than driving 3+ hours, hanging out, then driving back all in one day.
So, it's very possible that I just make it a two day event just so it can be a weekend worth while (Since I know several last year just made Indy a weekend trip).

Josh - Well I care about you enough that I'll be sure it doesn't lay on the 17th or 24th. ;)
How about the 16th or 23rd? :biglaugh:
No, I very well may make it a 2-day event so we don't have to rush everywhere from location to location.

Something like...

Day 1 - Meet together. Head to Winged Warrior for a bulk of the day. And finish with a nice restaurant dinner.
Day 2 - Mid-afternoon gathering. Parade to Dyno shop for 3-4 hours, then go on a scenic cruise to a spacious park where we can BBQ.

How's that sound, guys? :)

I can get a hold of quite a few guns for people to use... or there is a paintball place down near BC... just another idea.

Hopefully I have the mkII going for this... so I can whip up on Matt's weakass car. :sarcasm:

Anyone who is traveling can stay at my place over night... maybe I can send the wife back to her 'rents and party at my place the whole weekend...? Pending spousal approval, obviously. Just off of 65 on teh norff side. <20mins from the track...

And matt you can order gallons of meth/water mix online, i think its like $9-10 a gallon. just stock up when you order ;)

Well I'll probably be there, dunno if I'll be in my 86 or Cressida, as there are 3 drift events in May that I am attending, DriftIndy on May 9th and 23th and Outbrake in Ohio on the 10th. So if it's a weekend without an event I'll be in the Cressida, if not I'll probably be in the 85 Corolla GTS coupe, maybe I can talk the wife into driving the Cressida down :-D.

I have not put it yet. When I tried to take my turbo out I notice some of the bolts are loose. When I tried to pull the exhaust manifold out, 5 of the struds are strip. Some of it already been helicoiled but it still come out. I am going to helicoil them next week. I notice I can squeeze stock accordian hose onto 3" turbo inlet. However on my boss turbo the hole for the turbo support top and bottom are not drilled. I tried to finish everything by next month. Why don't you let Dave tune the car for you? Fuel pressure is not related to fuel cut.

I went out lowered it, now its at 30psi VAC-off. Didnt hit fc until 15psi now. I didnt have time to compensate in the maftpro as there was way to many cars on the road to "stetch my legs." Also need to adjust the boost controller i dont think the gate is closing fast enough so spool seems delayed

fuzz depending on what the tune is like on your maft-pro it might still be trying to add to much fuel. whats your air fuel ratio at WOT? Also have you tried going WOT in like 4th or 5th gear? try boosting in 5th gear and see if you will hit fuel cut at 14-15psi.

It was really hard earlier watching the road, cars and trying to boost as i was breaking loose in third which had me nervous. But i seen some ten's when boost first came on but i got in the upper rpms i seen a 13 right before cut, and that was a 4th gear pull. I think i need to pull some fuel down low and add some up top, but i find out more later when i do some more pulls.

please trust me and don't do anything untill i can tune it. your wideband is not linked to ur maftpro and there is no a/f tracking. if u mess with it too much u will fuck ur car up with a quickness. i would love to help u and get it tuned right so please just chill on it right now fuel cut means ur def rich so ur safe. if u can get it down her next weekend i can tune it and we can settle up later. pm me with what u think.

Fantastic news...

I cleared the whatever weekend this falls on w/ the wife.

Mi casa es su casa.

Anyone who wants to come party here all weekend is more than welcome. I've got 1 extra bed, a couch, a love seat, a futon, an air mattress, kitchen island, wooden bench, workbench, and a ton of floor place for people to sleep. Enough tools for minor jobs that pop up inevitably...

I'd love to see the culdesac PACKED w/ Supras.

Also, does ANYONE know of a Mint-ish mkI up here on teh Norfside? Seen it on 865, thing was clean as F*CK. I wanted to chase HER down and see if she wanted to sell it.

I think I found that Winged Warrior will be on May 9 2009.

mkiiSupraMan18
02-13-2009, 09:43 AM
^ Correct....

From IndianaImpreza

Short story, The Riley Cheer Guild is being sponsored by the Winged Warrior organization led by Dr. Kevin Butterfield for it's fifth year on May 9th, 2009 at O'Reilly Raceway Park. Yeah!

See: http://www.cheerguild.org and http://www.wingedwarrior.net for the glossy cover editions.

We are currently organizing all of the details, finer points, and et ceteras and I have been tasked to recruit volunteers to shag cones and/or work security, registration, bouncer if you're big enough.

I believe there were a few competitors from IIC at WWIV and while we would love to see as many of you racing as possible, the real benefit of volunteering your time and effort will be that the money collected from the entry fees will go directly towards the Riley Cheer Guild. I won't do the whole "starving kids in Africa" plea, but there are some sick kids that don't have much to go on and any way that we can help them out would be more than what they have.

As you know, we are limited to 100 participants but that does not mean you cannot make a difference! We would love to have as many attendees as possible this year, but more people = more for the kids = more work for us! So if you feel like volunteering, PM me or get with Brian. I'm not sure of the numbers that I will need just quite yet, so I won't take a stab in the dark.

I will update this thread as necessary when I get more information. The next WWV meeting will be on 12/20 so I should at least have some concrete required numbers.

Another way that you can donate to Riley is right here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/re...=3CEJICKWQ4WOQ

Would anyone be interested in shagging cones for the Auto-X event, if they are still needed...?

If I can get a gun, it will more than likely include a mask... If not, go to Wal-Mart and buy one for ~$15... It would probably be easier to go to the place in GnawBone and just rent the guns/masks/field... but if its like 5 or 6 of us who are going, I can do that no problem.

I have 2 guns, my bro has 3, my buddy has 1, nephew has 2 or 3, another buddy has one... So I can safely say I can get 8 guns.

Alright, So...ONE of the days is officially going to be Saturday, May 9, 2009.

With that being said, would everybody rather have the 2nd day on Friday or Sunday?

For most 9-5 working people, I'll assume you'd rather have Sunday.
But I'll likely soon create a poll to vote on the date (as usual).

Input needed to vote for a strong majority!!!! :biglaugh:

I'll most likely be taking a half day that Fri to give a good once-over to everything and have a fun drive up there, check in, etc. then be ready to live it up.

We had a Springfield, MO meet where we had about 6 states represented... On Fri nite we all gathered up, kicked rocks in the lot for a bit, then went out racing on the local spots, and a crazy hardcore hotel party followed lol.

Sat morning, those that wern't hungover did dyno day, then we had a big lunch, cruised to some places for lots of pics, then did a big cruise all over.

Sunday ended up being a 'who is still here, lets hang til whenever' day and everyone was gone by 3 at the latest.

Teh freez if you bring a Supra... Cressidas/Weaksauce SCs/Subies work too.

I've got 2 extra garage spots (Rumptis and ????) 3 spots in the drive, room for 3 in the culdesac, and the pool parking lot (15?) right behind my house. If I could fill those spots up, That would pwn more than a Korean buffet.

Plus, my house is like right off 65-S... I'm putting in today for the 5/8 off. Although I MAY be switching to an uber schedule and could have thurs, fri, sat, sun, mon, and tues off that weekend. :icon_bigg

well from what i think i know... if you want to compete in winged warrior you need to sign up way before the event... its like a drag/ auto cross racing day.... last year they opened the track to everyone... $20 and you could take a few runs.... Nate (suprafanatic) only got 2 runs in all day... lots of people....

as for the dyno day on sunday... you will want to sign up before the meet... just so we have an estimate on how many people will be dynoing.... the more the better....

BUT we got the 87 Supra Turbo Targa home last night, so we get to start removing stuff from that and pulling the engine. (gee ill-maintained supra developed rod knock, go figure). I'm swiping the r154 and goodies out of that for my Cressida, and then putting my old n/a engine from the x8 into the supra. I'll trade you a GT42, a blue Supra & a silver Supra...both motorless, and a 3" Tanabe Super Hyper Medallion........:biglaugh:

I haven't looked at/worked on the car for like... a year it seems. All Rumptis's fault. I swear he has the work ethic of the laziest of lame STi owners that need to get their 'Greenwithenvy' MKII's running...

IMPORTANT : READ THIS IF YOU PLAN TO DYNO.

Well, We've possibly run into a little bit of a dilemma...

As most of you know (from last year), Indy meet/Winged Warrior falls on Mothers Day weekend. Okay, No biggie.
(Still had a HUGE turnout last year, So that's not my concern.)

I've still got a couple other dyno shops to get in touch with,
But so far, The best I've been able to find is $75/3 pulls.
Granted, it's a very nice shop/area, plus he'll be providing food/drinks for everybody.....

It's a little pricier than what we're used to for a couple reasons:
-Food/Drinks provided & it's a Sunday, so they have to pay the staff "overtime".

So.........I'll leave it up to you guys on this one.

I'm still checking out some other places...But I really like this place and would love to have them host our dyno portion of the meet.

Please do give me your mature/realistic input.....
I don't want to hear a bunch of whining from you cheap Supra owners because it's too much. Again, take into effect the given circumstances...
And give me your honest opinion! I'd like to set something in stone here within the next couple weeks.

Thanks,
Jeff

Please tell me you are joking. Anybody who WHINES at $25/pull as they GAMBLE their PRICELESS PROJECT for a shot at some number... SHOULDN'T be making a pull ANYWAY!:nono:

I think YOU (Boost Lee) should exercise EVERY license to select the place/terms that you see most suited for this activity. ESPECIALLY with refreshments, let alone a "captured audience" arena of fellow Supra people AND others alike... you gotta recognize the VALUE ADD that is being facilitated for us here.

I REALLY hope I have things sorted out for this... even though my head arrival may be early May... if I'm lucky!

Boost Lee, you have my support, I'll be there if possible between work and the car... maybe even come with the Solara (STILL a Toyota COUPE!;) and although the 'lara surely doesn't need a DYNO PULL... lol, I'd likely be willing to toss-in $75 to join the event.

Step up on this guys/gals... sounds like a great effort by Boost Lee, and a SUPER opportunity to make a quality event at Indy.

-crisp

Boost Lee

I really appreciate that, crisp.

Yes, the Solara is still Toyota...plus you've got wheels on it similar in style to mine,
So it's a winner in my book. :biglaugh:

And to reiterate, that *IS* something that I hope people can take into effect.
It's a very reputable shop here in metro-Indy (not ran by a bunch of teenagers or anything), and the location is literally perfect.
It's maybe 10-15 minutes from O'Reilly Raceway park...
So if we could incorporate this place into the meet, with a hotel somewhere in between
this Dyno shop and O'Reilly Raceway Park, it would be very convenient for out of towners.

I know what I'd like to do already...But I'd like some moral support from the community before I step into something that could potentially make me look like an asshat.
(Example, Dyno day comes around and we have 3 cars dyno out of 40+ when the shop is expecting 10+).

Of course, The more options, The better. :)

However, I'm not sure if you were taking into effect the fact that it's a Sunday that we're going to be dynoing.
Because I have no problem pulling in $50-60/3 pulls in price from various

I know Dyno is scheduled for Sunday, but any clue as to what TIME sunday the dyno runs are? Depending on what time it is, I may be back from the drift event sunday and MAY put the Cressida on it (if I can get it running by then). But I WILL be there on Saturday, and it looks like the Supra will be ready by then, since I got all the parts needed for the swap sourced. Now just to finish sourcing parts for the Cressida, and decide if I'm going 2jz or 7m electronics to power everything. Would be kinda curious as to what a stock 2jzge with lower compression makes power wise.

For the dude needing the shell, why not pick up Clueless' midnight blue one, appears to be in very good shape and for a decent price.

OK GUYS, DUE TO SOME "CONNECTIONS" I HAVE...:naughty:
I HAVE DECIDED TO MAKE A BIG CHANGE TO THE MEET THIS WEEKEND:
Since we couldn't have a consistent/reliable roll call for people wanting to dyno,
After talking with the Winged Warrior creator/organizer,
And thanks to Jeff @ ModifiedAutoDesigns (He has a MKIV),
We have decided to work in a Dyno Dynamics portable dyno at
O'Reilly Raceway Park during Winged Warrior V.

PRO'S?
-You are going to be able to strap your car down for $25 and 3/4 pulls
with available wideband/AFR. :D
-It's a 2WD dyno roller, So you Subi noobs that need to get their Supra's running...Ready, Go!.....:biglaugh:
-For event goers, You won't have to worry about this butting heads with Mothers Day on Sunday (Although, We will still have a cruise on Sunday for people planning to stick around) :)

On a side note, I think this will help overall attendance for the meet to have the big portion of the event happening on Saturday.
I'll update the original post...But again,
We will be having a cruise/likely BBQ in Brown County somewhere.

Any additional help/ideas are welcomed, guys!

We have decided to work in a Dyno Dynamics portable dyno at
O'Reilly Raceway Park during Winged Warrior V.

PRO'S?
-You are going to be able to strap your car down for $25 and 3/4 pulls
with available wideband/AFR. :D
-It is an AWD dyno as well if anyone with an Evo/STi/awd Daewoo wants to dyno.....:biglaugh:
-For event goers, You won't have to worry about this butting heads with Mothers Day on Sunday (Although, We will still have a cruise on Sunday for people planning to stick around) :)

On a side note, I think this will help overall attendance for the meet to have the big portion of the event happening on Saturday.
I'll update the original post...But again,
We will be having a cruise/likely BBQ in Brown County somewhere.

Any additional help/ideas are welcomed, guys!

Jeff

BUMP for the extra and continued effort! I just got off the phone on some more parts to get mine together... and custom's cleared IJ's parts (head, etc...) yesterday, so hopefully I'll have those installed as well!

So saturday dyno now... I may throw the ae86 on there just for laughs, since it's bone stock. I hugely doubt the Cressida will be running 2jz or the supra running for this, too many setbacks. Right now it looks to be me in the ae86 and the wifey in the blazer. I will be there for Saturday, and depending on how late you guys hang around, I may swing by after my event on Sunday.

Thats great news.

That will definitely change my 50/50 dyno to 100%

Your hard work is much appreciated :)

What if I told everyone this was an April fools joke just to see if the cheap @$$es would show their faces with a cheap dyno price? ;)

LOL. It's not. That'd be evil.
No, it's completely legit. And I think it will work out well, though.

On that note...

Unless you've already verified you're going to dyno...
***PLEASE SEND ME A PM OR POST HERE IF YOU ARE GOING TO DYNO.***

I officially need a headcount. Yes, there will most likely be a chance for you to dyno if you decide at the last minute, but it's crucial that we show our faces up front in as big of a pack as possible.

Matt - You should throw the STi on there. I'll let you borrow the GT42 to make it interesting. :naughty:
(Seriously though, for $25...why not?)

If it's going to be $25 for an AWD pull, I am in like... a Korean in a nail sallon.

Also, I am driveable-Supra-less again. Some n00b from Cinci picked up Armandos car last night. Oh, and teh n00b wants a stockzerz exhaust, so if anyone has one... me wants it so I can get that schweet 3" setup back for the 82.

Also... Still looking for that turbo 5sp shell... Coop... you bastard... :biglaugh:

Different? There's nothing different about being a Supra owner that's NOT driving his Supra to a meet......:biglaugh:
Just giving you a hard time. It'll be nice to at least have you there.
And, you're more than welcomed to throw the Roush Focus on the dyno
for a harmless $25. :)

Hmmm... the more I am on this site... and as I approach the FIRST meet I will make with my supra (despite OWNING it for 14 years... DOH!) I am KEENLY AWARE now that not many of the supras OWNED are actually being OPERATED on a regular basis!

...what up with that!?

(Now I'm more determined than EVER to get mine up and ready to DRIVE to the meet! Even if I don't build the FINAL phase of the project... if I can just get there and run a "baseline" dyno pull, It'll be a SUCCESS!;))

Just seeing if anyone was interested, post HERE (http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1288209#post1288209) so we don't derail this thread any further...
