Hey guys,

I'm new here. I just wanted to know if the stock 1993-1998 Supra taillights are plastic welded shut or does Toyota use some kind of butyl sealant to close them up. Your help would be appreciated.

Thank You

They're plastic welded shut if memory serves me correctly.

I thought the toyota parts listing showed a gasket for both tail lights. They are like $22.00 each.

Pay attention to what forum section you are in, lol.

There are no gaskets on MKIV's, the taillights are completely external to the body, only the wiring runs into the car, and there is a grommet around it.

What are the three small screws along the top for then?

Yes... there are those 3 screws... interesting.

I think I have a spare set of tails kicking around here somewhere, maybe I'll take a closer look at them tomorrow.
