RS*R Race Springs for Road Racing

Have not used them but thought about it for a while. I was using the Eibach set (625? F 215 R?) which are also progressive. I've heard people say these are no good for auto-x roadcourse but I liked the setup (on Tokicos) so it was either a decent setup or I learned to mask them well.

The car transitioned well (also have stiffer swaybars and replacement bushings) but once I really learned to use the grip I noticed the car was diving too much. Keep in mind, you can roadrace on stock springs (look at showroom stock classes) but if you plan to use big sticky tires you might want something stiffer. I'm still on street tires and have just swapped to a 1000 F 600 R setup which has much less dive. I think those would do well on some good shocks with swaybars. Like I said my car drove well for me, but I became used it the feel and learned to do the most with it. It'll be a great feel over stock springs but you may have to adjust to the difference in rate and ratio of front/rear stiffness.

My brother has a set, they're linear springs and will keep you planted. I'd say consider upgraded shocks, my brother's right rear shock(KYB GR-2s) keeps blowing out.

I purchased the RS*R race springs and installed them yesterday, along with an alignment that afternoon and the drive back home was enjoyable.
I also will be installing Tanabe Sustec chromoly steel anti-sway bars next week and there may be less roll as a result of these upgrades.
Next month will be an HPDE at PIR and I'll see how well the set up works on the track w/Kumho Ecsta 711 with 6/32 tread on them. Van

I'd recomend swaybars, I still remember it as the single best SOTP upgrade. I run a Tanabe front bar b/c it balanced the car with the rear ST bar.

So only one person really has them. I am considering buying these springs and pairing them up with bilstein shocks.

RS*R Race springs, driven around on the uneven surfaces that are the norm in the Portland area, are tolerable. The springs are paired w/KYB GR2. The float is gone and the dive is too (floating while going down the freeway and dive going over speed bumps, on the 10 y/o TRD springs).
I also installed the Tanabe sustec anti-sway bars, and so far, driving around town, I haven't noticed any difference over stock bars. I'll suspend judgement, until after the track sessions, March 14th. Van

I ordered them through their web site and had them shipped ground, UPS. They were delivered here (Portland, OR), seven days later from a warehouse in California. They beat the Horsepowerfreaks price quote, at the time. Van

I had these springs coupled with some Koni Adjustables. But I changed to some coilovers because the car was too low for Houston roads.

This setup was awesome IMO. Ive never tracked or autocrossed them. But I always had fun with this setup on the twisty roads.


I'll be selling mine as soon as I get the rear set off, if anyone is interested. =p

Also, I got my set from 935 Motorsport. It took forever to get them from him [its drop ship from manufacturer], but got a good deal on em.

I had a set paired with tokico Illumina IIs on mine for a little over a year. They are great for twisties and technical driving. After I put some ST sways bars on the ride became almost perfect, but they sat a bit too low for the horrible Memphis street conditions. I went to coilovers to raise the height back up ~half inch to stop the lip/muffler/undercarrage destruction. I would put them beneath coilovers and above every other spring on the market.
