First 5 units leave with a free 3.5 bar map sensor! this should get your EMS going in no time. Also as an added bonus Air temp sensor is on sale for 40 dollars. This sale ends feb 28 2009.

Wow, I got one call on this deal and one pm. The AEM box at this price kills the rest of the EMS's out there. It has nock control, Idle works like stock and it also has 2 step. that is three of the many fetures it has build in. Car can be driven on the stock calibration map to a local dyno. The setup wizard makes setting up sensors and injectors easy.
This EMS is solid, I have personally istalled and tuned many AEM's with out any issues. You can have an AEM EMS in your car and it will drive like stock, all day every day as long as your tuner knows what he is doing.
I can also modify this box to work with your 1jz if you have a 87-88 7MGTE harness.

Good deal! Do I have to hack up my glovebox to fit it? What more do I have to buy to run speed density?

To run speed density all you need is a map sensor. They are pretty much plug and play and have base maps loaded onto the cd it comes with.
EDIT: looks like you will get a free map sensor so your good to go.

Could I easily set this to run the stock timing maps for now? Does the unit have an auto tune feature, so I could connect my LC-1 wideband and set it to stay at 11.5 AFR under boost and build a map that way? Just wondering if, for now, I can get a solid basic tune doing it myself or not.

I do believe they have an auto mapping feature. The stock timing maps should be supplied in the base map.

I've heard these boxes are quite big, and don't fit in the stock location. So how do most guys mount it if there is no jumper harness?

When I install these EMS's I pull the carpet back and lay the box behind the carpet. There is also that plastic cover that goes under the glove box, that area there works also. Those two areas work well.

Does it come with its own wire harness that is long enough to put down there?

The last day to order is the 28th of Feb. Yes you can buy a 2jz one also, if you buy both of those I can also work a deal on the 2jz box, but it wont be as great of a deal as the 87-88 box.

Unless the 86-88 glove box is different, the AEM box itself fits wonderfully in the glove box with the black plastic cover in place. The only thing that makes it a challenge is the serial cable routing. The one thats included with the AEM is a little thicker. If you can find a skinnier serial cable or remove some of that thick plastic housing from the one included, you're good to go. I Love my AEM and that's a great deal

Realy? I need to see how that was done. Can you take a picture for us all of your glovebox? The AEM is bigger then the stock ecu in every direction.
The installation of the AEM in the glove box, should not be a reason not to buy one. :biglaugh:

This is a hell of a deal, if I was a little farther along in my build I'd jump on this. Any chance of it being extended past february? I'd love it to run into march-april to get into tax time. One would be mine if this were the case.

I'd be willing to put my name on the list to have one, Just don't know how quickly my accountant at work or the federal government will take. What all would also be needed to make the AEM work in tip top shape? I see a lot about using the GM boost solenoid, but what about the MAP and possibly changing coils?

You will get two boxes, one for the MAP and the other for the AEM, the AEM map sensors just came in today, the AEM box left tonight. I was trying to get both out together but I just didnt happen that way. Sorry for Delay.
To all others that ordered, AEM map Sensors are going to be coming in on Monday, this sale has been a hit with AEM that they can't keep stock on all the accessories that you need to complete the AEM install.

I have asked, they said no. That ECU does sell well, not to mention that the connectors are also shared by a lot of hondas and also Evo 8 and 9. That means that the main board they use to make the 89+ is in high demand and they dont have to give any kind of price break to move it.
you have PM.

I just shipped the last two AEM EMS's that are on special right now. IF you want one, you must prepay and wait till the back order is lifted. If you wait to order and dont order before the deadline it will cost you list price to get just the AEM by it self. :aigo:
