View Full Version : VPC and 680cc injectors on a 7M
I've been told that the 680's will work with ok the 550 chip in the VPC. Does anyone else have experience with this set-up?

yep, works well. an even better setup would include an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and an afc to really be able to tune it in. but just the vpc alone it will still run pretty decent.
Thanks for the reply. I have the AFPR and both the GCC and a SAFCII. I just wanted to install the 680's and not have to stuggle with runability problems until I had the time to work through the learning curve of the SAFCII.

you don't need the GCC. in fact, that is overkill and may actual cause some issues having so many things modify the airflow signal.
also, be sure you hook up the afc AFTER the vpc, despite what hks says. i.e. the output of the vpc to the input of the afc. it works much better that way. you may also need to add a resistor on the intake air temp sensor to avoid the ecu setting a code. you may know about that already.
if it helps, i think i have some drawings of how to hook it all up if you have an 89+
Was not going to use both GCC and SAFCII.... I bought the VPC and SAFCII together with the harness. So I have installed the VPC and just unplugged the SAFCII from the harness. So yes, I could use some diagrams, and additional help going forward, if you have them handy...

if the afc is wired into the vpc harness you will have to have the afc plugged in for it to work. if you go thru and set all the corrections to 0% it will be the same as not having it hooked up.
i looked for the vpc hookups but dont see it on my site.
here are the drawings for the afc/avcr and the 89+ ecu pinout and color codes

if i find the vpc one i'll upload it and post it.
thanks! This will help...
