Aside from EMISSIONS, the differences are some in the ecu (map based aristo) AFM based US (I think)
the cams are slightly different aristo/US. The turbos are different (ceramic (jap) vs steel).
tranny is the same. Oh, and the Aristo is front sump, not rear sump like the MKIII.
Jeff
Cliffs: no emissions, change the cams to US cams, or upgrade them, switch out the twins to a single, and then it's just tuning difference.

If I am correct the turbo's are different too.

well aristo gte and us gte.. if that is what you are asking about,d the aristo doesnt have the dampener on the serpentine belt tensioner, and the aristo gte has a hydro fan. also the us supra cams are for power the aristo is for economy, and the turbos are ceramic. i dont have my aristo gte in front of me but what are you trying to cheack?

USA had V160
Japan had V160 and V161, depending on year/options

since im a god i know this, a JDM Getrag (V161) has a 6th gear ratio of (0.818:1). the US (V160) 6th gear is a taller ratio of (0.790:1) :naughty:

yeah, i've got the 160 in my jdm 93. Fing RHD keep shifting to 4th instead of 2nd when I drove it for all of 3 minutes ;)

You'll get used to it pretty quick. When I drove my brother's JZA80 it didn't take long.

I have an aristo motor. Would the horsepower gains be worth the money to switch to USDM cams?

On a side note, I'm planning on getting a Stock Aristo motor and going very small turbo and keep it to maybe 400-500rwhp and fast Spoolup. I want good gas mileage for my GS300/Aristo.
