hey im looking into getting a 1uz motor to drop into my 87 hardtop im just wondering what im going to need and if there are any hidden problems with this swap
i did search but couldnt find anything usefull
im also looking to build this motor for a tt setup
just trying to get as much info as possible

is this a really rare swap or somthing cause i really am having a hard time getting info on it

you'll need to make engine mounts. custom exhaust manifolds are a must. the stockers are super restrictive. the cams are real mild ,too. you can make some good power , once the engine isn't getting choked down
i knew a guy who did the swap and had a 5sp in it. was to be the only manual/1uz swapped mkiii in the states (at the time?) it was almost done, and he kinda disappeared from the scene. don't know what happened to the car

Most people opt for a JZ series swap. A good portion (if not all) parts need to be fabricated one-off to get it to work.

most. others like to innovate, and not follow the heard. i'll take the v8 powerband over peaky 6cyl
