Hello guys I finally found a complete 7MGTE the only thing that was apparently wrong with it was head gasket was gone and consuming Water. Now the engine didn’t have knock or anything I was going to replace the bearings and rings but decided to do that to my spare block………..what is a good way to clean out the working 7M like oil gunk and is it ok for me to take off the bearing caps to check the condition of the bearing and if its good I can just put it back in ?? My father reckons I should just stick it in and let it run to remove the oil gunk build up but is there a better way……..

I'm not a 7m expert or anything but i don't think letting the engine run to remove the gunk is a good idea..

I dont understand what your asking for. Do you want to know how to get old oil out of the motor thats in the car/ flush the motor? If so scroll over to jdubs section as mentioned above, im sure he's got something to help you. You sound like you know what you are doing, or you wouldnt be asking this, but if you had a BHG then you should have flushed that block along time ago, as with most BHG cituations you more than likely have coolant in the old oil. Did you do a metal or composite headgasket?
