thought this would be interesting just as a comparison from the 1j to 1.5j

here's a couple of dyno sheets from the 1jz setup.. all mods the same to the 1.5j

304kw = 413rwhp
319kw = 433rwhp

cept the 1.5jz 319rwkw run had a couple of different mods... #5 piston cracked and kinda only had 100psi of pressure and the turbo had serious in and out play LOL

i would assume that 24 leaking valves would contribute to the fact there was only minor power increase between the two engines

Are there any trade-offs when going with a 2J bottom end? Does it make the 1J any less efficient with a twin turbo setup? How does the longer stroke change the behaviour of the motor and what are the other differences besides 500cc more displacement?

Thanks..

I've been to two of those sites before and though they are very informative they didn't exactly answer my questions...
