Ok, so there is a guy where I work. Mustang owner... typical type. "Mustangs are teh haxors!" :biglaugh: Well, he bet me the cost of a dyno that I would not put down more than 200whp. With what I have, no more mods allowed.
My setup:
Hard pipes, AVCR @ 11psi, High Flow Intake, Full 3" Exhaust (turbo elbow gone) w/ Hi Flow Cat, removed rear seats, boards, spare tire (a little weight savings lol), and I'll run it without the muffler since that has a blown gasket and it was coming off anyways

His Setup:
98'ish Mustang GT V8 Automatic, stock. He made 190whp and 250wtq and swears up and down he can beat me anytime.

I plan on racing him after the dyno to further prove my point.

I will be replacing my coolant and oil, fixing that broken throttle cable (the bracket came today) on thursday and friday. The Dyno is at All Aspects on Saturday, i will find out the time. It is an open dyno day for those who want to join. There will probably several mustang guys there to cheer him on :naughty: :sarcasm:

Well, all of a sudden he says the owner might not be there this weekend... BS. Anyways, I'll go to a different dyno if that's the case and whoop his ass. It was going to be around 9-10am and $55 for 3 pulls with AFR, i think. We will find out today.

Thanks for the support guys, I'll be sure to give him 4 lengths, because she's running right since I added a little coolant last night. Apparently my temp gauge is off, which would explain why she's been so hot lately... She was hauling ass this morning, so I am looking forward to new plugs, oil, etc... Who knew bogging down that much was caused by heat...? Don't ask me how it made it slower, but my ass knew the difference the moment I boosted out of my neighborhood! :love:

I plan on taking video of everything. doubt I'll get him to race, and it wont be for money if I do. I wont gloat... much. Maybe a "told you so, dumbass" then I'll shake his hand and it will be all good. I don't dislike him, he just pissed me off and I'm out to prove a point and rape his pride.

The funniest part is that he SAYS he ran a 300zx twin turbo and stayed even... When I asked the guy about it, he said the mustang couldn't even get close. When I ran the 300, I was maybe a length behind, but I was running like crap (not an excuse, I filled my radiator and she stopped being so hot and ran well this morning, and I've got my new throttle cable bracket in, now just need a new cable by saturday... Yes, I just got back in town last weekend. I'm not too busy this weekend. I have to change my oil and my girlfriend's car's oil, but other than that, I'm free for a meet this weekend.
If this thing is still going on at All Aspects, I was thinking of going and maybe putting my car on the dyno to get a baseline of what I have before I get my upgrades done. All Aspects is just waiting for a few gaskets and such and then they'll call me in to get my stuff installed. Let me know if anything's going on.

That's fine, it's 10-15 minutes with heavy traffic. Not far at all. Kind of hidden, but it's right next to Eurosport. Lots of nice porsches and things.

lol, well I have good news (for the workers) and bad news (for me)...

My bank has raped my paycheck so now I need to budget, which means no oil, tranny fluid, diff fluid, or new spark plugs. And I'd rather dyno at All Aspects anyways, I don't like Dyno Inc. Bad experiences... and if someone is on the phone with a customer, you don't tell one of your workers to STFU and NOT cover the mouth piece :biglaugh:

Regardless, he is not escaping an ass whooping. I took the muffler off and took her out for a spin... I lost most of my CD's to my back seat during boost onset going into 2nd (they were sitting in the center console beneath the AVCR)... He will not escape. Even with 5 car lengths. Without the new fluids. I might just go ahead and race him, pull the bragging rights, and THEN he can pay for the dyno next weekend.

Yes, I am waiting for next saturday so I can dyno at All Aspects instead. Sorry for those who began to plan for this saturday, but when finances get screwy, I'd rather not be in the hole because I had to prove something that could wait a few days.

What does that have to do with you putting down 200? You should have no problem doing that. I think I'd show up, and right away show the guy your inside out empty pockets. You are doing right by waiting until you have your fluids right. They aren't gonna help your power much at all, but they could save you some trouble that cost way more than the fluids will. Add 1 quart over the full line on your oil. It won't hurt a thing, your motor can stand it, and it will help during spirited driving.

Oh, and if he' got a GT with intake and exhaust, and can't make 200, he should have the car checked out.

He's really upset because everyone is giving him shit here at work since he says if he had a stick he'd be around 230whp easy. From what I understand, an auto doesn't give that much of a decrease... therefore switching means you still don't have that much up from 190... unless I'm crazy.

So, I'm sitting there talking to my coworker who has a mazdaspeed3 putting down around 268whp w/ 296wtq, and he wanted to run for the hell of it. I said sure. Then, I got an idea and invited mustang boy into the game.

Long story short, the ms3 took off on me after 4th gear, so I slowed down for the mustang to line up. 1.. 2.. 3, go! I will give him this, his torque allowed him to pull a few feet away off the bat, but at the top of each gear I reeled him in more. I ended up with 3 lengths, soon to be 4 right before we let off. Of course, we have video. Youtube, here I come!

We then proceeded to ihop and he was cool about it. He was impressed by the 10 inch flame I threw several times during the night :evil5:

His account (and I made sure he agreed it was 3 lengths and pulling) was funny. He tells it like "I knew I had you at first, and then went 'fuck...' as all I heard coming was 'sssss-CH! sssss-CH! sssss-CH!' right past my window..."

That's the issue I am having currently with Jordan. I work 2pm-10pm (and school 8am-11am depending on the day), and he works (I'm assuming) 7am-3pm. How in the hell is this swap supposed to be easy? I've seen it done a few times and not once has it ever been anything short of an enormous pain in the ass. Some of them gave up and went back to 7m, and they were people who knew what they were doing.

I did listen to people about the 7m. I was hesitant to do anything with it though because it involved changing the internals to reach my power goals. I have been considering this swap for a long time, and never did I think it would be easy. I talk like it's going to be bam bam done because it helps keep me upbeat and ready to go about it. You guys know I'll be the first one out there researching and fixing the problem every time something pops up. I have so far, and some of it on my own. That and I never expected to have internal problems with the 7m, but now the sound is getting worse. She's in the drive way, and not being driven until the swap is complete.

You can be mad, upset, whatever. Last thing I wanted to do was piss people off by choosing a smarter way to go (imho) with the engine route. I have the opportunity, so I'm taking it. I'll do it on my own if I have to. You can call me if you feel like speaking to me, but beyond that, I refuse to deal with stupid drama.

Ask yourselves this: Why would I, of all people, intentionally slap my friends, who I go to for help, companionship, and advice, and trust with my opinions and thoughts and hopes, in the face?

Answer: I didn't. If you have an issue with me or something I did and want to clarify why I did it, then talk to me. I don't live on mars, and I certainly always have my phone and texting capability. I do believe I'm the one who's always calling and texting and seeing who is doing what anyways.
