Just got a 95 SC300. The TRAC & CEL are on. I replaced the O2 sens (2) Not a Cali. car. & checked the vacuum lines to the TRAC cntrl at TB & they seemed to be fine. I Disc. the Neg Bat Term to clear the codes. After test driving up to Hwy speeds for about 20 min all was fine. On another drive on the hwy the next day both came back on at the same time. Any tips on what to check next? Can the codes be checked by jumpering E1 & TE1 like on the 7M? If not how do I check codes?

I know that often times on LS400s the trac light will come on because the abs sensor is malfunctioning or broken. And this may have nothing to do with your situation but have you checked your EGR system for the CEL?

Completely eliminated the EGR System with Block Off Plate & soldered in a Resister so no more CEL. Still have the TRAC light tho. Troubleshooting that as I get time. I plan on doing the 95+ LS400 front brake upgrade shortly. FWIW checking the codes is done the same as on the A70

ive had this same problem oddly =/ it actually did it on and off and acted funny but i didnt have my ls400 long enough to get into it.. i bought a new TPS and trac tps and was going to do a round of maintenance but i sold the car instead and did the 2jz swap ;p
