My friend just got his first car a LT1 Firebird Formula. I don't know much about these cars other than LT1's and LS1's respond very well to bolt ons. He's told me his car has "BBK Headers, and SLP Loudmouth Exhaust, its also a 6spd). His friend a real cocky kid who has a 07 Charger R/T Hemi (Daddy bought it for him) w/ an exhaust system. They swore up and down that they would walk me. I don't really care if I won or lost but we went from a 70mph roll, since my friend with the firebird isn't good at launching. Three honks and we took off, as soon as turbo spooled I pulled on them, I put about maybe a car or two of them I wasn't looking back but I didn't see them beside me or in front kept going till 125-130 and let off and then they pulled up next to me.
Now for some reason I feel as if I should've lost that race.
My mods are
Tanabe SHM
HKS DP
BIC Test Pipe
GReddy Elbow
GReddy TD06H-20G Turbo
Intake
Boost set to 12psi
My car is auto also.
So can I really claim this as a win?

LT1's have imaginary stumps tied to them.

Nice with those mods you are just there to pull on them. I murdered an srt8 charger 3 times in a row. He wouldnt give up all it took was 15 psi on my ct26-60-1 and it wasnt car lengths it was bus lengths. Good kill we should get together sometime and race. Therre is plenty of racing ,im here in houston by 59n and 10 :evil2:

Well I thought bolt LT1's run low 13's from what I've seen. And don't those Charger R/T's run mid 13's I haven't taken my car to the track yet, but just from the bolt on Firebirds I've seen they are quick cars.
Bolt on LT1 cars make low 300hp if they're lucky. They weigh about the same as you do, not really seeing the surprise here. If it was from a dig, he'd have beat you for a good while. LT1s are nasty from digs.

r/t chargers really don't have that much power and they're like 4000 lbs to boot. The power difference between an r/t and an SRT-8 is pretty big. Honestly, when I drove an r/t charger, it was nothing too impressive.

I beat a few r/t's with a stock turbo so its no surprise to me ..... BHP and WHP aren't two different things. I am sure an upgraded ct26 will walk an SRT pretty easily they are heavy ass cars

yes.........you are well deserving of this win........not a problem..............the kid in the r/t was probably talking so much during the whole thing;the air waves out of his mouth slowed his sled down................nice kill

I dunno much about the Dodge...but the LT1 F-bodies are pretty good top end cars if he drives it right.
The LS1's are better by far, but the LT1's are pretty nasty up top.
The TD06 is instant rapage though, get that thing dynoed...

As mentioned, I see no surprises here.
LT1 cars are pretty nasty from a dig, and they certainly have the gearing for some top end goodness..............But so do you. ;)
I pulled a 6spd LT1 Camaro by about 3 lengths at highway speeds, with a 60-1 CT26 at 15psi.
Congrats on putting the toolboxed, trashtalking young'n's to shame, but there should've been a victory flag raised from the get-go. :-)

12 psi on a td06-20g?
try cranking the boost up to 17 psi on that turbo. World of a difference!
btw. Isn't your head messed up?

That one must have been modded, because I put about 9 on a stock one lol
LT1>LS1 from a dig. My friend's LT1 randomly starts pulling harder between 100 and 110, no idea why. It doesn't do it at that RPM range in any other gear, either. It's weird.

Great.
I said nothing about the one I pulled being stock......Because it wasn't.
As for your friends LT1...It must be in your/his head, a bad tune on your car (when you raced him) or just the natural gearing in them.
No, he gave up before that, it's something we noticed riding in the car.

A kill is a kill, be it by a nose or a bus length.

I'm with figgie. Turn up the boost on that TD-06. They're a nasty little turbo for sure!

LT1s can be nasty, although i never understood why the formula was so special? My buddy has an LT1, so i baught a LS2 an shut him up. Oddly enough his still feels faster when comparing butt dyno's.
Formulas are Trans Ams without all the luxury items. LT1 cars usually do feel ridiculously fast (from my experience), my buddy's Camaro feels wayyy faster than my Supra.

Maybe it's teh torks? I've never driven or been in an LT1 but don't they only make like 300 HP? I personally hate the way the LT1 firebirds look so I never really looked into them (or the Camaro).
275/325 crank unless it's an SS/TA/Firehawk. They feel a LOT faster than that though.
