I just wanted to say that i really love my ddp and it sounds so cool. I didn't know what was wrong with my supra since I was getting only 7 psi with this mods k&N intake, 3' exhaust no cats, 3' dp, hks ssqv bov. I though I had a boost leak but as soon as a get this ddp installed my boost gauge shows 11psi now. Friend of mine has a 04 stang 5 speed and he checked how my car run after the ddp so he was like can i get something like that for my stang? :umno:
Thanks a lot Randy.

He won't race me now but there's a guy who has a 98 cobra who laughed at my supra. He was like I can take you piece of crap anytime and I was like just wait. When i take my camaro to work he doesn't say a thing only excuses cuz he's pretty much stock just slp loud mouth exhaust two bullets, X pipe and cai.

A near-stock 98 Cobra is no match for your Supra.

I'm having a difficult time trying to understand what some of your last post says. So I'll ask this question not knowing if you've answered it or not. Have you raced him yet?

I am glad that you are happy with the DDP. For any one else here feel free to leave feedback on your downpipesand other parts.

I'm hitting fuel cut now at 12 psi in 3rd gear and 4th gear at 4500 rpms.

Time for bigger injectors and Lexus afm. Or some kinda Fuel cut defencer(I don't think it worth the money) Injectors and afm are the way to go.

I had my DDP for maybe three months now and love it. Pulls alot harder up top.

As Yonkers said, get a Lexus 1UZ (4.0L V8) AFM and 550s.

The DDP, combined with my upgraded CT (.57 Trim) are the best mods I've done on my car, bar none! My first weekend with it, coming back from the PacNW Supra meet in Portland, I literally scared a vanload of old ladies right off the freeway :naughty: (over to the shoulder, and down to about 20mph!) That was a 120mph rip! Take that sucker into a long tunnel,( if you want to lose about 10-20% of your hearing) at about 6000rpm! :evil2: Talk about an adrenaline rush! Just make sure there are no cops within' about a 10 mile radius! :biglaugh:

When Dave took me for a ride out to pick up my DDP we went though a nice tunnel, all I can say is I wish we had tunnels around here I could boost through. DDP is the best mod I have done to my car so far, can't wait till it's running again.

I have one more DDP here on the shelf ready to ship. I will start production of the next batch next week. I have just been moving into a new shop, so production has slowed down in the last few weeks, sorry for any delays.

I just switched to the SP61GT and the associated DDP and had a couple of questions. First, it ALMOST sounds like I have an exhaust leak in the engine compartment, but I assume that this is because some sound might be making it out of the dump tube a little bit. Is this normal for most people? I've had an exhaust leak before, but it doesn't sound like this one. All the studs/nuts are tightened to proper torque and everything is secure. I also cannot feel any air moving around the turbo/manifold/DDP. Thoughts? I can't remember the second question...I hate getting old.

CPT: yes, that's normal among DDP's. ;) you have nothing to worry about. it's because the divider between the exhaust piping and the dump tube cannot make a perfect seal, so it "leaks" a bit through there, and you're hearing it out the dump tube.

Thanks, Shaeff! Always good to check! I hadn't thought of the divider wall...DOH!

Anyone bought the re-routed DDP he is offering? I like the idea of returning the divorced pipe back into the main tube so that it isn't so loud, but I am not sure if the angle of the turn will affect flow. I emailed him to see if he did any dynos with the new design. Hopefully, I will hear an answer soon.

I'm actually considering doing the same thing. I plan on dynoing it open and then at the same shop having them re-route it and dynoing it again...

My conjecture about re-routing the wastegate exhaust back into the main pipe is that you'd get less power out of it. Since it'd be adding exhaust volume (not noise) to the 3" pipe, I think it would cut down on flow. The location and angle of the re-route would probably play a slight role in the power output, as well.

I would have to agree with SP7M, and I am curious what the results would be. I am lookin ginto getting a ddp and I would like the rerouted one, but if it is less hp, I will probably deal with the sound of the ddp.

I think the power difference between the regular ddp and the rerouted one will be very slight if any at all. The main benifit of the ddp is that the wastegate exhaust stays seperate from the main exhaust, instead of slamming into the turbine exhaust like a stock setup. But either way they will both show a good gain over a standard 3" downpipe/ elbow setup.

And again some people may experiance a slight exhaust leak type sound after installing the ddp, like Shaeff said. There is no way to get a perfect seal between the divider plate and the turbine housing, esspecially at the gasket area. I also think there is some slight casting differences in the Toyota turbine housings, which would be the reason why some experiance the sound and others not. For the most part the sound goes away once the car and turbo is warmed up.

I have sold quite a few of the rerouted versions, and had nothing but good reviews on it. I think there is a few guys on here and SF with the rerouted version. I hope to dyno all three downpipes on a mk3 somtime in the next few months, and get some solid numbers down.

here's a little tip, too:

if you have an electronic boost controller, the wastegate only opens at your specified boost, and if you're boosting enough with the EBC to open the wastegate, i'm sure you're not concerned with decibel level. ;)

it's a good way to keep the ddp quiet when you're not at full boost, as our actuators slowly open even at partial throttle.

cliffnotes: if you want the ddp quiet when not at full boost, get an electronic boost controller. (they're better anyway)

I've been meaning to hit the dyno with it NOT rerouted and then have it rerouted and dyno again without changing anything else to see what happens. I really don't expect more than MAYBE a hp or two loss by rerouting the flow back in. Heck, maybe it will have a scavenging effect, but I am not an expert on exhaust flow. Anyway, BIC is right in that after the car warms up the noise pretty much goes away. Again, I am SUPER happy with this product!!!!! :):):)

I can not wait to get my rerouted ddp now. Only a few more weeks and I should have enough for it unless i buy more unexpected parts:biglaugh:

i was at 7psi before i added the bic ddp and after the install im still at 7psi. i have intake, bic ddp, test pipe, catback as my mods and i have searched many hours for a boost leak and have found none but i dont know why my boost is not increasing:1zhelp:

i dunno why either suprajjang... my boost levels went from .8 bar to dunno cuz it hit fuel cut at .9.. but i took out 2 washers and its still getting to .89 :| definately a good power mod :D

well the car pulls all the way to redline after i installed the ddp and before it felt like i hit a wall around 3900 rpm so i feel the difference but i have been searching for a boost leak and have been unsuccessful in trying to find it but maybe thats whats causing my bad mpg.:1zhelp:

I just think this means your wastegate actuator is functioning as per factory spec 7.5 psi
