However, it must be said; Your car is the nicest all-round A70 I have ever seen mate. Super-clean inside and out, nice parts freaking everywhere, suspension work, BS amounts of power...

I'll stop there, but have to say I really admire your attention to detail. Keep it up :) (And buy a damn camera - a half decent one costs like $150 now...)

I need to read up on your thread to see what you have been upto, though I now find out I am in Melbourne for work all next week and the week beginning 7th July. Bit of a bugger as I have a few more things to get done before my car gets stripped in Mid-September (current plan anyway) with estimated completion date of Feb

BTW IJ checked out the engine bay painting pics, it looks time consuming but very do-able so mine is getting painted too now.

Well it works a lot better than having no antenna, but this particular one is a bit crap TBH. Fine in the city etc. where fm is strong, but otherwise not so great. I just use the CD stacker 90% of the time. I have used a similar setup on other cars which have been fine - I think this antenna is not so good.

Wow I miss out on so much crap through the day... Still no wideband Pato, but I think Canadian customs said wtf so it should land today or tomorrow. I only paid for it in March :thumbsdow. In other news I should get my turbo tomorrow or Friday, which means this thread will be bombarded with awesome pictures. Plans for the end of the year are to get it back on the road without anything else breaking, get a new clutch and see what my baby can do :).

Back when I had my first car (RA-60 Celica) which was stock, and I craved more power, you would relish the "good" days when it felt faster than the bad days. I used to think, a car with 400+hp, even on a "slow" day must still feel freakin quick

Well, I can now tell you, one does get used to the power, and on a bad day, even though it has 5 times as much power as my daily rather than 6, it feels slow. Its all relative I guess.

Also, human nature, we always want more!

Still, if you get to a point where it always just fries the tyres I gues you dont get bored of it.

Bought the 180k cluster last year when I first did the engine swap and just wanted it back on the road so I never converted it to an analogue cluster. Then I bought the 280km/h one about 1 month ago to swap over while car was off the road. Then a week later someone from these forums(Dennis) happened to have a 300km/h JZA70 cluster come with his halfcut and it was no use to him.

I have to say the level of maturity here is one of the things that has made me warm to this forum and consequently I feel a little embarassed to have previous skirmishes precipitate (unintentionally) on here.

I have one thing I want to get done before my car is pulled to pieces and thats to get the oil pressure gauge on the digital dash going again.

It somehow became a casualty during the MOTEC install, the dude who installed the MOTEC got the rest of the dash going fine, (including tacho and at my request hooking up the check engine light as a shift light) but the oil pressure gauge is now dead. He said it must be the dash, he pulled it apart and re-did a few solder joins on the PCB which looked dicey but he said there is a signal getting to the dash connector from the sender unit so it has to be the dash.

One thing I know is he found all the other wires for the dash by backprobing so not sure if this may have fried the oil pressure gauge sectioin, I have a spare dash to try out but I have a feeling I will plug that in and it wont work either. Also a mates car his oil pressure sender on digital dash stoppe working, AND on JZA-70s the digi dash does not have an oil pressure gauge, just a warning light, so perhaps Toyota eliminated it for a reason??

I'm going to do something similar and mount my HKS Voltmeter there though I am having to decide which gauges I want to run and the voltmeter may get the chop. Ah decisions decisions.

Next weekend my car goes in stealth mode as the Work 18s come off and the JZA70R Charcoal 5 spokes go back on.

I plan to go the whole stealth look so I'll be chucking a new oil pressure and boost gauge in the stock cluster. Unsure if I want to use my oil filter adapter or grab one of these, http://store.driftmotion.com/Static/Item1jzssoilpressuresenderadapterfor18nptsender.php. I have read that the adapter never seals properly and I think the driftmotion one would last me until I buy a relocation kit. I could probably get one made up locally though right? As you can tell I'm hopeless with this kind of stuff.
