Mine is insulated/heated.Problem is my heater isn't safe when painting,and and being -8 it gets COLD in the garage so fast I can't get much spraying done(stripped car to bare metal so there's a lot ).Not in a hurry anyways as I'll be damned my supra will see these salt covered roads ever.On a sympathetic note,I have to work x-mas eve too,so I feel your pain.

Actually the injector seems to be fine, it just doesn't want to co operate with the others when trying to start it :p.

Well they changed over the injector clip thingies and it's running a lot better now, still a slight misfire so the coil packs from the old engine are going in. Once that's done hopefully it runs fine and can be tuned :D.

Casey: Sight along the shaft and make sure all of the U joints are in line, the rear section of tube is 2 piece rubber bonded and can slip out of phase.

5yrs owning a supra thats pretty good (what sort), i have owned mine for yea 7yrs or so i cant remember now lol, but i sorta lost track of the car ever since i got ill, shame tho because i love that car. Yea hg gone again, only just started to leak around Xmas time last yr, was not happy but what can ya do. Yep i do plan on getting this head sent off and tested as it wasn't done the first time :3d_frown: and i hope this time it will be all good from now on, wish me luck lol
Id love to get it decked out, 550cc injectors and a LS 400 air flow meter, and boost it up to around 10-12psi but all cost money and im out of it now :cry:

Hello there and thanks for welcoming me to the forum, i have been on this forum awhile now as you can see 2006 but yea haven't been on here that much since i lost interest in the car (ill and no money) sorta kills things. Yea typical 7M blowing head gaskets lol ill get it right one day. I hope this time it will be all good.

For details on my car umm ill do a quick run down. As you know its a 88 GT Limited, 7M-GTE, 5speed Auto, Digi Dash (have a spare) 16inch wheels ( i think there of a skyline) Ram pod, stainless steal exhaust system 3inch to the cat then 2.5inch the rest of the way (great note) Prisma Tek boat paint over all the car, so it changes colour in the sun (fleck) Full Grey leather apollstry, Aero top. ive seen a few 7m manifolds cut and welded to be front facing, ive got a spare manifold, i might cut it open and see if its possible, i think these run 17" runners.

i just want to clean up the bay a bit and cut like 1.5M off my i/c piping...

unless anyone knows of a 1jz manifold going cheap? ive seen them spliced nicely with the runners from the 7m manifolds...

went to the gas motorsport dyno day today
very embarrassing/dissapointing :(

only 2 a70's were there and the winner was announced at the end with a increadibly dismal 130rwkw ( some of the a80 na's got a higher peak hp )

unfortunatly for me i didnt take my car down ( because iam trying to save money :P ) only to realise that by winning the a70 class the winner takes home $200 :o
so with my car putting out a consistant 200rwkw's or just over, i would of easily taken the money.
i hate my life :p

the highest single on the day (apart from the gas motorsport cars and mis52j) was mazman ( sf ) with 360 - 380 rwkw ( cant remember exactly )
so he wont the prize for biggest power output for a single turbo

The GAS cars are just insane!!! They ran up their Supra & MIS52J, The GAS Supe for 995.9kw & Jodi got 665kw on her first run on dirty fuel & fked plugs...

Wonder what the mechanic might have done to cause that.... that's why I take my car to one mechanic and one that I know is competent with what he's doing. One that knows how to work with our cars.

Hope you get her up and running as soon as possible. MK3's are the sexiest cars in the world and looking by your pics she deserves to be on the road, not off. :(

I'm still cleaning goo off off the body and various bits and pieces

Made a democratic decision that the HKS oil pressure gauge is being taken out seeing as I got the factory one to work again, I only have room for 4 gauges so EFT, Fuel Pressure, Oil Temp and Water temp are what I decided to keep.

Guy painting my car said no gauges at all is best, who ever really looks at any of them when the car is on full noise.

Probably the wrong person to ask Dan I ran my car for most of it's life on a stock dash.

I'd just configure a bunch of lights to run off the M800 and set it up to protect the motor if something goes wrong.

Don't know about you but when going fast there's no way in hell I can watch gauges.

Yeah that sounds the go. At the moment the check engine light is my shift light. I think one long term project will be to further utilise the MOTECs capability as I am only scratching the surface with it.

Be warned, when I get it going and load up the newer software I may need some advice on setting up the idle speed controller on it

I found water temp is the only gauge I ever looked at and the EGT I left on peak hold and looked at after a blast on high boost to see what happened

Well I bought some new cams and some other random bits,

I sanded some brackets which are now in undercoatm, and, well, thats about it. I've got a few more interstate trips coming which puts further spanners in the works.

Next big step will either be the head being completed or the engine bay having all the holes filled and seams cleaned up.

I dont think my car will be running by the end of the year as originally planned

lol dan theres always draw backs.........took my car for a drive up an down the rd I noticed I had a chip in the windscreen driving along and wammo a massive split!!! regardless exhaust is finshed and sealed up, just need to spray body deadner under chassis rails, paint body, tyres then off to get inspected.

So had a look at the turbos last night.... they have HKS stamped on the front housings... Garret tags on the middle bit...

But other than a set of flange adaptors for the exhaust manifolds, they use the stock intake piping from the 1J and have my old dumps fitted up to them now... no shaft play and they are def ball bearing:D plus they have braided oil lines now as well...

plus the rear housings are still rather small... they are def bigger than stockies though


Pics up later today but you cant see much... What turbos do they sound like people cos I though 25/30s were bigger and would have different intake piping??

Ah OK. What I am looking for is the grommets in the front wheel wells that the brake hardlines pass through from the engine bay to the wheel well

finally got my power steering fixed.
it seems that the lines that run from the rack to the pump under the motor are interchangable with a80 ones :)
made it dam cheap for me

factory toyota ball joints are sooo expensive :(
was looking at the ones from driftmotion for $59us each seems the way to go. autobarn cost price is $185 each

and yes actually, iam comming over your way on the 9th. and i have an abs unit from a jza70. i dont have the brackett as i sent that to xsjado.
but if your just after the unit ive got that no worries.

took a while to get everything settled down, and i blew one of the power steering lines under my car which i had to replace too, but ive only just got everything working really nicely :)
iam thinking i prob got around 300rwkw, but yet to be dynod.
pretty much same mods as jon but with a larger turbo and more boost.

am gettin a really cheap emanage ultimate ($500)
so am chucking that in and seeing what i can do.

can get rid of boost cut and tune it properly.
then fuel pressure reg. and wind some more boost into it.
and somewhere during that stage bigger injectors

should be fun :)
