I am trying to decide on a new turbo. The engine has been built-blueprinted
& balanced, head ported and polished w/ Ferrera valves & springs o ringed
w/ copper head gasket, custom 3" SS mandrel bent exhaust, AEM w/ wide
band, extrude honed plenum walbro fuel pump, 550 Venom injectors, stage
3 clutch w/ aluminum fly wheel etc. I would like to make between 550 &
600 rwhp. I'm looking at a Garrett GT3582R-compressor trim 56, A/R 0.70;
turbine trim 84, A/R 0.82 and a Garrett GT4088R-compressor trim 52, A/R0.72
turbine trim 78, A/R 0.95. I want something that spools up quickly and
still has a good top end pull. The car is basically a weekend driver and I
might do some track days with it although I probably will not drag the car.
I guess I'm looking for a turbo that is fairly user friendly and still raises the
adrenaline. What would you guys recommend? I know some of the decision
is purely subjective and I would like as much objective input as possible
to base a decision.
