I purchased the ARZ big brake kit (4 pistons, 13" rotors) in Apr 07, never got to install them until about June 07. As soon as I installed them, my multi year old master cylinder gave out as we were bleeding the system. This was caused by bleeding the system the old school way by pumping the pedal, holding it and feeling the pedal go to the floor as someone else loosens the bleed nut. As the pedal went to the floor multiple times, so did the old seals/o-rings inside the master cylinder that had not traveled that far for a long time. Anyways, the master cylinder, while it never gave me a good pedal feel, it still worked enough where I could drive the car, and get good decent brakes after a couple of pumps. I was impressed with the brakes, but boy I didn't know what I was missing until today :icon_bigg
Almost a year has past; I ordered a new master cylinder from Toyota. We installed it today, bench bleed it, installed it and bleed the system. I went for a quick drive to test it, not expecting that much of an improvement. BOY WAS I WRONG :biglaugh:, you might have heard Andy mention that passengers have to hold themselves to not go thru the window? As the driver, I almost went thru the window, LOL Those brakes are simply breath taking, I run pretty good tires upfront, so from whatever speed I tried to do a hard stop, it would just stop without locking the tires, but I mean STOP on a dime. My friends were watching and couldn’t believe how such a heavy car was stopping that quick after such a hard acceleration. This Kit guys, is simply amazing. I used to say that the best investment so far to my car was my coilovers, but it's because I never knew what type of brake system I had in my car. Thanks Andy, and keep up the good work.
